You might have never heard of the Infiniti QX4 before today...well...because it is an oddball luxury SUV from Nissan's luxury brand sold from 1997-2003. You can barely throw a timing belt without hitting a Nissan Pathfinder around these parts, but good luck finding a QX4 -- I have to imagine that Infiniti only sold a dozen or so...but according to this random website, Infiniti sold about 20k a year -- not much in the modern world, but more than a Nissan GTR. A Nissan Z In Disguise: 2005 Infiniti G35 Coupe

Modern (post 2000 model year) cars are fast, complicated, and comfortable.  Some are still too expensive, but others have depreciated into serious DT territory because of the immutable laws of supply (the OEM sold a ton when new) and demand (the newer versions are cooler/better/nicer smelling)...which have oddly favored the Infiniti version of the Nissan 350Z, which was known as the G35 coupe, at least until Infiniti renamed their entire lineup to be Q70, Q42, QGeewhiz Batman, I can't decipher this bloody nomenclature.  Anyway, this next car comes from the time when you could tell what kind of Infiniti you were getting. Glori..Gloria...Gloriaaaaa, GLORIA: 2003 Infiniti M45 Y34

The Y34 generation M45 was sold in the US market for the 2003 and 2004 model years only, and in very limited numbers (8000 or so if you believe the web).  The M45 was sold as a competitor to the BMW 540i, Audi S6 or Mercedes-Benz E500 and you don't see many around partially because it didn't have a basic entry model...but I think that only ads to the allure.  Plus the styling is downright sweet and doesn't look aged like the previous mentioned competition from 15 years ago. White Leopard: 1991 Infiniti M30

The F31 generation Infiniti M30 was essentially a Nissan Leopard re-badged and upgraded for the US luxury grand touring market.  The M30 might look like yet another Japanese front-drive econobox, but in reality the Leopard was a rear-drive sports car sold as a competitor to the Toyota Supra and Mitsubishi Starion.  Unfortunately the M30 was only available with an automatic transmission but the convertible version was really good looking if you ask me.  Find this 1991 Infiniti M30 convertible offered for $2,300 near Atlanta, GA via craigslist. 9000 Rpm Sedan: 1991 Infiniti G20 Swap

It is heartening to know that there are really fun to drive cars out there for not much coin.  The first generation (P10) Infiniti G20 was known as the Nissan Primera overseas.  It was the entry level Infiniti and came very well equipped for being a smaller car.  Enthusiasts loved the good handling from the independent suspension and eager SR20 engine.  It would be fair to consider the G20 as being the four door version of the SE-R.  Today's G20 is in much better than average condition and kicks things up a notch with the screaming JDM SR20 NEO-VVL engine.  The SR20VE was never sold in the US, but are readily available from JDM engine depots.  The Nissan VVL is very similar to Honda's V-TECH system and helps these engines make power at absurdly high rpm.  Find this 1991 Infiniti G20 for sale in Kearny, NJ for $2,500 via craigslist.

T For Tempting: 1994 Infiniti Q45T

The first generation Infiniti Q45 packed a surprising amount of performance & technology when it was released into the wild way back in 1990. Competition from ze Germans (BMW/Mercedes, etc) included a lineup on inline-6 engines in cars like the 5/7-series and Mercedes W124 E-Class --but in comparison the Q was indeed Quick. Parent company Nissan was pushing the performance mantra on all ends of the automotive spectrum and the "sporty" image survives to this day. SE-R cousin- 1999 Infiniti G20

The second generation Infiniti G20 undeservedly flies under the radar screen of most used car shoppers.  They are superb values that avoid the Honda and Toyota tax found on buying used Civics and Corollas.  The G20 comes with the tuner friendly Nissan SR20 4 cylinder engine and has a interior that is better equipped and more upmarket than the competition.  Find this 1999 Infiniti G20 for sale in Oakdale, NY for $2,000 via Long Island craigslist.

2003 Infiniti M45

If you remember back to 2003, Infiniti tried their very hardest to lure nostalgic baby boomers into their showrooms with an ad campaign that featured muscle cars and the requisite stereotypes. Sweaty, hypothalamus dominant men in their Camaros and Road Runners plowed through corners with tire punishing understeer and smoked Comp T/A’s while their girlfriends grew progressively less impressed with every neutral drop. Meanwhile, a mature and fairly rational fellow who had presumably traded his Toyonda Camcord on something a bit more engaging was featured as our protagonist. That campaign sold enough cars to now allow us to have them for a song. Generation Y34: 2003 Infiniti M45

Some of these cars still exist as other variants or rebadged models, some are just on a hiatus, while many are down and out for a permanent dirt nap (cue Monty Python skit here).
