Scion iQ Inside: 1974 Honda Z600

What a way to start a Monday! This next car had my scratching my head for a while.  I'm pretty sure there is a bald spot up there now...cause I'm still scratching.  Maybe somebody can explain to me how a car like a 2014 Scion iQ ended up being the donor chassis/drivetrain/interior for a '74 Honda Z600.  This really looks like one of the first model cars I tried to build with Testors model cement when I was about 8 years old...it looks great on the package but that glue melts everything and the end product is NEVER as good as it looked on the box or in store.  I dunno.  Somehow the seller's ALLCAPS SHOUTING DESCRIPTION ONLY ADDS TO THE ALLURE. You'll certainly get to say you are the only one on the block with this thing. Find this 1974 Honda Z600 built on a Scion iQ chassis offered for $5950 in Huntington Beach, CA via craigslist. Tip from Mike Jr.

Multi-Tasker: 1990ish Dodge 1500 Ram Pickup Forklift

What is red, white, and can pull its own motor? Yeah. a Dodge pickup with a forklift hanging out the back.  The fork lift pickup might seem like an odd vehicle, but I've seen many running around the street hauling dumpsters from behind apartment complexes to the street for the big trash machine to do the dumping. Personally, I'd like to have one to drive around and use for various tasks around the yard/garage/house (wash the windows on the 2nd floor?), but you'll need to get a title because this one isn't street legal according to the seller. Find this 1990ish Dodge 1500 Ram Pickup Forklift offered for $1,500 in Lake City via facebash marketplace.

Yamaha V-Twin Powered: 1923 Ford T Bucket Replica

The typical vintage T-Bucket replica goes like this; off-the-shelf tube axle front end kit, bucket of fiberglass, Ford 9-inch rear end, TH350 slushbox, Chevy 350 small bloc---whoa...who put that Chebby part in my Ford?  Thems' fightin' words. The only non Ford power I'll put in a T-Bucket is something from a long-time Ford partner...like Lincoln, Jaguar, or Yamaha.  Yeah.  A V-Twin from a chopper will do nicely. Find this 1923 Ford T Bucket Replica offered for $2250 in Oxnard, CA via craigslist. Tip from Sean S.

The Hero We Need: 1997 Kia Sportage

Twisted Thursday: 1974 MG MGB V6

Friday the 13th fell on a Thursday this month, so I am going to call its Twisted Thursday, and we are going to dedicate the day to scary stuff.  Does it get any scarier than shoving a boat anchor cast iron V6 in the front of an MGB and then outfitting the interior in deer antlers?  Good luck getting that shifter past the meanies at the NHTSA.  Find this 1974 MG MGB V6 offered for $3,400 in Tucson, AZ via craigslist. Tip from Sean S.

Custom Junk: 1950 Studebaker Starlight

If you read DT's tag line at the top of the page it says: "The Internet's best fun cars, cheap daily drivers, vintage classics and custom junk, on the road for less than $20k."  Ignoring grammar and punctuation, it is a pretty powerful statement, but today I want to aim the spotlight on "custom junk."  Yeah.  Find this 1950 Studebaker Starlight Coupe offered for $5,000 in Cocoa, FL via craigslist. Tip from JPB.

Polarizing: 1959 Chevrolet Corvette

When this next feature came into DT's tips inbox, there was a discussion that turned into a violent rift in the DT office (virtual office...) with one group claiming that the car is a classic with lines derived from Ed "Big Daddy" Roth's Beatnik Bandit, while another camp sees the car as an abomination with style straight from the Hypentelium Nigricans, commonly known as the Northern Hogsucker. The flame war that ensued caused a rift in the office, the likes of which haven't been seen since the VW Camino versus Coltamino from 2015.  Let's just hope nothing has been said that can't be taken back. Find this 1959 Chevrolet Corvette Custom offered for any good offer above $10k located in Carlisle, PA via craigslist. Tip from Torrance.

Spellbound: 1979 Dodge Warlock II

The 1970s were a strange time indeed for muggle, mudblood, wizard, mage, witch, squib, pure-blood, half-blood, alike.  Long before JK Rowling was writing the best selling book series in history of books, a company called Chrysler tapped into the world of witchcraft and wizardry by releasing a special edition pickup known as the Warlock.  Find this 1979 Dodge Warlock II offered for $7,500 in Crittenden, KY via craigslist.

Something for Everyone: 1974 Chevrolet Corvette

by Matt -- A dog’s breakfast. That’s what the Australians call a haphazard conglomeration of pieces and parts which work together to create one cohesive mess. Want try drive yourself completely insane? Try naming all of the parts adhered to this C3. Is that a coffin-nose AMC Matador grill? Land Rover Series II turn signals? Surely not, but it doesn’t really matter. This is an alternate interpretation of Johnny Cash’s “One Piece at a Time” where the dude works at Pull-a-Part. Even if you hate this car, chances are pretty good that you’ll like at least one or two parts on it. Find this rolling parts bin on Craigslist in San Antonio, Texas for $6,000.

Another day another customized Volvo 245 wagon -- are we too predictable?  Nope.  Not at all, particularly when it comes to a well written advert that starts: Please if this is your first car, if you can't change your own oil, if you need your dad to come with you, if you can't drop a transmission or custom fabricate don't bother responding its too much car for you I know its sweet but lets save both of us some time....  Find this 1982 Volvo 245 Wagon with V8 offered for $8,500 CAD ($6,553 USD) located in Edmonton, AB, Canada via kijiji.ca.   Tip from George.

Woiperdinger Estate: 2007 Mercedes E63 AMG Wagon

The CLK63 AMG we posted yesterday was certainly one of the least common AMG built cars to arrive on these shores with numbers in the low triple digits per year -- but this next car was imported in the double digits for the 2007-2009 model years.  The CLK63 may have been a unicorn, but the E63 AMG wagon is a real woiperdinger. Find this 2007 Mercedes E63 AMG Estate Wagon here on eBay offered for $25,300 buy-it-now or make-offer located in Tampa, FL.
