Reader Ride: Attention To Detail MGB GT-Sport

Time for another edition of DT's Reader Ride feature, which keeps delivering the hits like an MMA professional in a bar fight.  This next feature comes from reader KC who has what appears to be at first glance a lightly modified MGB GT.  Appearances are deceiving because this thing is anything but lightly modified and it looks like a dream come true for an MGB GT enthusiast who doesn't want something stock.

5k: Grandma Not Included: 1973 Porsche 914 2.0

The Porsche 914 was a sporty two seater born from a collaboration between Porsche and VW.  Today, the 914 is an affordable classic that lacks straight line speed, but certainly doesn't lack fun.  The early 1.7 and 1.8 liter engines are a bit light power, but the later 2.0 liter engine almost matches the performance of the 914/6 and can be had in nice condition for cheap.  Find this 1973 Porsche 914 2.0 for sale in Phoenix, AZ for $5,000 via craigslist.

10k: Redcrested Bluebird: 1972 Datsun 510 w/S2000 i-4 and 6spd

The Honda F20C engine from an AP1 S2000 is a modern marvel in mass production internal combustion engines.  It employed an array of bespoke racing technology to obliterate similar sized naturally aspirated engines in power density and is known to last well into the 200k miles with minimal issues.  The S2000 roadsters have dropped to a price point where a good crash will cause the car to get parted out, allowing all manner of plasma torch wielding mad scientists to use their greasy bits for transplants.  Find this 1972 Datsun 510 w/F20C and 6-spd for sale in Raleigh, NC currently bidding on ebay for $8,000 with a 4 days to go.
