1k: Syncro de Mayo: 1985 Volkswagen Quantum B2 Syncro Wagon

Next up for Syncro de Mayo is  a second generation (B2) Volkswagen Passat, badged for the US market as the Quantum.  This one isn't just your average Quantum, it is a wagon and equipped wtih Syncro 4X4 system.  Find this 1985 Volkswagen Quantum Syncro Wagon offered for $1,200 in Port Townsend, OR WA via craigslist.



The B2 Passat/Quantum rides on a platform shared with the Audi 80, 90 4000, Coupe, and Quattro. The 2.2 liter inline-5 cylinder engine is mounted ahead of the front transaxle and makes 110 horsepower.  Power from this one goes via a 5-speed manual gearbox to all 4 wheels via VW's Syncro 4X4 system...also known as Quattro.

  3. Is there any reason not to do an Ur-Quattro turbo 5 swap into this wagon? 034 Motorsport probably sells all the parts you'd need to finish it.

    1. Because the 20v turbo out of a 200/S4/S6 is vastly superior to the 10v found in the Ur-quattro.
