15k: KITT Car: 1986 Pontiac Firebird TransAm

The show Knight Rider is a classic slice of Americana, a cheesy 80s detective/vigilante show starring the undeniably tall and cheeseburger loving David Hasselhoff.  But the real star of the show was an indestructible 3rd gen Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am named KITT (Knight Industries Two Thousand).  In the show, KITT cost upwards to $100,000 to build, but you can pickup a fan built copy at a huge discount.  Find this 1986 Pontiac Firebird TransAm KITT replica offered for $14,000 in Savannah, GA via craigslist.  Tip from FuelTruck.

Apparently there is an entire industry that supports the KITTifization of your 3rd gen Trans-Am, starting with the nose that incorporates the Cylon style scanner and  continuing to the inside.

The seller claims to have spent a staggering $9,000 on the Knight Rider gauge/HUD/steering wheel setup.  For that much money I would expect the car to come with a functioning turbo boost button and be mostly impervious to small arms fire.
