The asking price might be a smidgen high for this next car..but then how often do you find surviving cars from the early 70s with a stock single barrel carb.  Most of those cars have long since been crushed and the 4bbl equipped versions are placed on pedestals and at the top of the next Barrett-Jackson auto auction. Raised White Letter Tires: 1976 AMC Hornet Sportabout

Tipper Rock On had this to say about DT's newest project car, "Vince’s new wagon is very sporty, but this Hornet is not too shabby."  The wagon version of the Hornet was called the Sportabout which proves automakers were allergic to the term wagon even way back then.   The Hornet here is about as rocking as it gets for a 70's estate- big 360 engine, Cragar wheels with white letter tires, rally striping, and orangey-red exterior paint.  Find this 1976 AMC Hornet for sale in Shreveport, LA for $7,000 via craigslist.

H is for Hardy: 1976 AMC Hornet Sportabout

Ok, time for H. We could've chosen the "fabulous" Hudson Hornet for this one, but those early post-war cars aren't likely to be a Daily Turismo for many of our readers due to anachronism and value. Hence, feast your eyes on its namesake, the AMC Hornet. American Motors Corporation was formed when Hudson and Nash-Kelvinator merged in 1954, and the new parent company wisely kept visitation rights to one of its more successful offspring (albeit in name only). AMC was swallowed by Chrysler in 1987 and what remains today (Jeep) is now owned by Netherlands-based Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, NV...what does all this mean? 20k: 1957 Hudson Hornet Hollywood

The last year of Hudson's fabulous Hornet line was 1957, and the following year it was dropped from AMC's lineup and replaced by the Rambler.  The Hollywood 2-door pillarless hardtop was the one to get and even in limited production, it seriously reduced the world's supply of raw chroming agents.  This 1957 Hudson Hornet Hollywood is in excellent condition, currently bidding on ebay for $17,600 with 1 day to go and located in Appling, GA.
