Nothing inspires more confidence in a sellers photos than the use of a block of wood to stop the car from rolling down a hill. At least it is clear this car was rolled out of a garage before these pics were taken and there is a chance it doesn't live outside in the Connecticut winter...a chance...
Oooo, look at all that patina. Would love to see the patina fanboys rave about this...because the world's smallest air cleaner isn't the only thing wrong with this setup. If the oustide of the engine looks like this, it is a good bet the inside is gonna be nasty. A thorough check of the floorboards, sills, jack points, inner fenders and anything metal is required on this one.

Ugh... what a pile... and too bad because at the body sure is sharp. I can't believe there are actually 6 bids on this. If the engine/bay was sharp one could accept the massive amount of work still needed on the interior (and suspension - is it a 4x4?)
ReplyDeletePerry here. I see an unplugged hole in the intake manifold. Looks like a vacuum leak that could be dangerous to nearby squirrels. But I love the PORSCHE script on the valvecovers. That should fool the chicks!
ReplyDeleteThe body looks impressivly straight in spite of the fake slantnose kit. I say it needs a cheap aluminum LS engine. If that big, heavy SBC fits in there a little LS will be easy. There's plenty of conversion stuff available for putting them where smallblocks were. So, overall, I see this as a buy.
Anyone else notice? Front bumper and rear fender "scoop" strakes (or air guides?) are black on passenger side, white (body color) on the driver's side. I'll see Perry's comment (above) about the hole in the intake manifold and raise you an incredibly suspect radiator setup with an unknown red "substance" providing what appears to be structural integrity / leak prevention on pretty much every non-finned surface. If this hulk is worth $8k, I'm in the wrong business.
