Manual Swapped: 2001 Audi S8 Quattro

If you are a car guy and have never enjoyed the Robert De Niro and Jean Reno classic Ronin (1998) you need to schedule yourself a few hours and pick up a copy on Amazon.  The D2 generation Audi S8 was the feature car that was driven in anger by Skipp Sudduth's nerdy hacker/driver character who insists on getting a custom nitrous system and then hauls the giant sedan through small cobblestone covered French streets.  It is fantastic -- and you can watch one of the S8 scenes in a clip on youtube here.  After watching Ronin a few times, you'll get the kind of itch that only an all-wheel-drive V8 powered Audi can solve...and this next one is a bit janky, but it does have a manual gearbox swapped in from another Audi. Needs Clutch: 2002 Audi TT Quattro 225hp

The 225 horsepower Mk1 Audi TT (type 8N) Quattro was a moderately cool car when released in 1998.  It featured sweet Bauhaus styling and is certainly a style icon that will become a collectible classic in 30 years (or so...).  Naturally the high horsepower K04 turbo equipped 1.8T version is the one to get, and while it probably makes more sense to get one that is in good running order, this one just needs a clutch and is offered for next to nothing. Strange Brew: 1990 Audi Coupe Quattro

The B3 generation Audi 80 was sold from in 1986 through 1991 as a sedan, coupe and cabriolet.  The coupe version dropped the 80 nomenclature in 1988 and became known simply as the Audi Coupé.  This generation of Audi Coupe isn't quite as iconic as the original Ur-Quattro, but it offers better drive-ability and ergonomics for a better price...or at least so I've been told.  Find this 1990 Audi Coupe Quattro offered for $5,700 in Burlingame, CA via craigslist. Scotto Carcaine? 1987 Audi 4000 Quattro CS Lewis Edition

If you haven't gotten hooked on Hoonigan's YouTube videos yet, it could be for a variety of reasons. Maybe you think the incessant donuts and "scumbag" antics are tiring. Maybe you're not a 16 year old kid, and can see that their target demographic is someone who can't yet legally drive. I have to admit I wasn't the biggest fan of their brand of tomfoolery until I was a guest on the show, with our Black Iron Racing E36 Camper Lemons car...and I got to know these guys a bit... then I kinda got hooked. It has since become evident Hoonigan co-founder Brian Scotto has a thing for 5-cylinder Audis, which is a bit unexpected. Then I stumble across this craigslist ad for what is most likely one of his "someday" vehicles, since the photos are clearly from the Donut Garage parking lot. Killed B: 1983 Audi quattro

"Ur" is German prefix that in one of it's meanings is original, primitive or proto-.  Such as Ur + shrift (document) is Urshrift or original document.  The Audi cognoscenti a few years ago began to refer to the original "small q" quattro of the early 80's as the Ur-quattro.  The Ur-quattro was a ground breaking car that changed the face of rallying, ushering in the all wheel drive revolution. The Bauhaus styled mark 1 Audi TT was released in 1998 to instant acclaim and backpats all around the Volkswagen group board rooms.  Wait...Volkswagen?  Yup, the TT was built on VW's Group A platform, which means it shares its front-engine front-drive default setup with the Volkswagen Golf and New Beetle, but with a number of significant upgrades.  Find this 2003 Audi TT Quattro offered for $6,900 in Santa Cruz, CA via craigslist.

Time to switch gears and offer something for our celebration of Syncro de Mayo with an Audi badge on it -- this time from the VW group PQ34 platform.   The first generation Audi TT was designed by J Mays and Freeman Thomas and features a modern take on the Bauhaus school of design.  The fact that the smooth sheet metal covered a plebian VW Golf/New Beetle chassis didn't stop approximately 300,000 people from buying one from the Audi showroom between 1998 and 2006.  Find this 2002 Audi TT Quattro Coupe here on eBay currently bidding for $4,050 reserve-not-met with 7 days to go, located in Farmington, MN.

At the risk of betraying Daily Turismo's very reason for existence, this post features a car that cannot, in its present state, legally shuttle you to work, the golf course, rehab, or your recommended daily showings of Furious 7 (spoiler alert: it doesn't have any Audi 90 appearances). Stripped and swapped, this Audi 90 Quattro is being sold without a title. 5k: Rare Wagon: 1991 Audi 200 Turbo Quattro Avant

 Audi never built that many of the Audi 200 Turbo Quattro Avant, so finding one in good shape for a decent price is unusual, so I didn't expect to see another so soon after the example posted here in Dec of 2014.  The C3 body style Audi 200 was built starting in 1982, but it wasn't until the last and final year of production (1991) that Audi installed the latest 20-valve turbo engine known as the 3B mated to 5-speed gearbox and Quattro all-wheel-drive.  Find this 1991 Audi 200 Turbo Quattro Wagon offered for $5,950 located in Bozeman, MT via craigslist.  Tip from Oldsmobuick.
