This is how car collections start. With your sports car/project car/Radio Flyer Wagon already stowed away for the season, your daily driver is left with winter transportation - entirely possible with a good set of snow tires. The long-roof body style is so hot right now. Credit the sleepy appearance, or an aging enthusiast demographic suddenly finding themselves with offspring (or offspring's offspring), or something in the water making pragmatics out of everyone. Or they just look freakin' awesome. This Audi doesn't disappoint in any regard, even if you can't tell from the lack of pictures.
Cruise, ABS, air conditioning, and power everything are said to be in good working order, but the seller is including a small encyclopedia of service manuals in case something blows. That's a risk we would be willing to take for the chance to hoon a rally-era Audi with BBS wheels and driving lights in the comfort of heated leather seats. Why another car? Why not! We're all headed toward a bulk sale anyway.

The factory boost gauge reads in absolute pressure, so with key on engine off it reads 1.0 (sometimes 0.9 on really crappy days). Therefore, that 1.9 bar chip is actually about 13 psi. Expect 200 hp or thereabouts, depending on which chip it has.

ReplyDeleteI have no clue whatsoever what's involved in swapping an AAN into one of these. Or, hell, a 4.2 40V V8.
This is actually in San Diego---just appears to be a savvy seller knowing his target market and trying to list it in Denver.
