Needs Clutch: 2002 Audi TT Quattro 225hp

The 225 horsepower Mk1 Audi TT (type 8N) Quattro was a moderately cool car when released in 1998.  It featured sweet Bauhaus styling and is certainly a style icon that will become a collectible classic in 30 years (or so...).  Naturally the high horsepower K04 turbo equipped 1.8T version is the one to get, and while it probably makes more sense to get one that is in good running order, this one just needs a clutch and is offered for next to nothing. Find this 2002 Audi TT Quattro 225hp offered for $2000 in Sonoma, CA via craigslist.

Full Sized Beast: 1966 Buick Electra 225

I've had some discussions with other DT talking heads about what year was the pinnacle of automotive perfection.  To me the answer is easy -- 1965, the year that you could buy an original Fastback Mustang or a gorgeous C2 Corvette or a 65 Buick Roadmaster unencumbered by smog equipment or safety stuff, but DT's cub reporter Hunsbloger thinks that 1967 was a better year because most cars now had dual circuit brakes, seat belts in both front and rear and four-way flashers -- a minimum he believes for safety on modern roads or track days.  Let's just split the difference and agree that 1966 is the best year and enjoy it with this 1966 Buick Electra 225 offered for $995 in Naples, FL via craigslist. 5k: Head Turner: 1972 Buick Electra 225

The Buick Electra was in its 4th generation in the early 1970s and shared a chassis with other GM rear-whee-drive full sized C-body cars, including the Cadillac DeVille and Oldsmobile 98.  However, Sir Mix-A-Lot never picked the DeVille or 98 to star in a music video, so the Electra reigns supreme.  Find this 1972 Buick Electra 225 offered for $5,000 in Visalia, CA via craigslist.  Tip from Kaibeezy.
