15k: Target Acquired: 1979 Porsche 911 Targa SC 3.0

The 1978-1983 Porsche 911 SC is one of the more affordable rear-engined Porsches on the market and offers a much better bang per buck than the earlier versions.  This was the time when Porsche introduced its front V8 powered 928 GT car that was supposed to eventually replace the aging beetle descendant; but the 911 showed resilience that outlasted its gadget filled new brother.  Find this 1979 Porsche 911 Targa SC 3.0located in Portland, OR and bidding for $13,500 with 6 days to go.  Tip from Michael B.

10k: Ain't No Lemon: 1969 Pontiac LeMans

The holy grail of classic car finds isn't the mud-covered Shelby in the garage or the mint condition low mile E-type that will live inside a living room with the owner contemplating pulling a Ferris Bueller after driving to the local mini-mart.  The true great finds are classic iron, in good condition, with decent paint, good original or lightly modified engines, seat belts and functioning AC found for less than the price of a 3 year old used Kia.  Find this 1969 Pontiac LeMans for sale in Platte City, MO currently bidding for $7,600 with a few hours to go.

5k: M-Sport: 1999 BMW 540i 6-spd

The E39 generation BMW 5-series was built from 1995-2003 and was available with fuel sipping diesel engines (but not in North America), silky gas I6s and brutish V8s.  The range topping M5 is certainly the maniac's choice, but the 540 is still a competent car for about 1/3 of the price.  In fact, the E39 540s are typically cross-shopped with E34 M5s and offer most of the performance of the previous M5 with only a few downsides.  Find this 1999 BMW 540i 6-spd M-Sport for sale in Seattle, WA for $7,400 via craigslist. Tip from John S.

15k: MMMMMM: 1988 BMW M6

The E24 6-series was a luxury grand tourer from BMW with a gorgeous body designed by Paul Bracq and featured engineering supervision from Maximum Bob Lutz.  The M6 version added a modified inline six engine from the M1 and barring some sort of apocalypse or DOT ban on I6 engines, the original M6 will be a future collectible.  Find this 1988 BMW M6 for sale in San Carlos, CA for $16,688 via craigslist.  Tip from Kaibeezy.

Harbinger of Corolla Liftbacks to Come - 1973 Volvo 1800 ES

The Volvo 1800 series of cars have been flying off the shelves on ebay and Craigslist recently. We've seen some record prices and some great deals over the past few months on the P1800, 1800S, 1800E and of course the ES. This 1973 Volvo 1800ES is just the latest find, here on ebay in Gladstone, OR with bids approaching $6k and just 2 days left to run. The seller has posted tons of Ansel Adams quality pictures, by which one can gauge its bid-worthiness. This particular photo reminds us how much Toyota borrowed from the 1800ES when they copied it with launched their Corolla Liftback.

20k: Upper Bucks Goonsquad: 1982 Porsche 911 w/Chevy V8 Swap 430 hp.

The Porsche 911 is fantastic car in stock form, with a bevy of available free-revving engines, a light and communicative steering system and a tail happy rear-weight bias.  The 911 has always also been a good looking car, with clean body lines and some of the least objectionable bumpers from the ugly-bumper era....at least until you start brush painting it and shove an iron block domestic V8 in the back...then it becomes a Big Booty Hoe from the Upper Bucks Goonsquad...what?  Find this 1982 Porsche 911 w/Chevy V8 swap for sale in Upper Bucks County, PA for the asking price of $21,000.

15k: Saintly Coupe; 1969 Volvo 1800S

Three Thorsdays in a row...that's just how we roll at DT. But unlike yesterday's 245 and Monday's 1800ES, this one is not a wagon. It is, however, one of the best photographed cars currently on ebay and as such earns the coveted Ansel Adams award (disclaimer: photos on ebay not actually taken by Ansel Adams). The car looks to have been fastidiously rebuilt and maintained over the last few decades by the previous owner and the current seller. It's a 1969 1800S, for sale here on ebay in Portland, Oregon. Bidding is currently hovering around $10k with reserve not met, and about four days to go.

15k: Texas Toast and Crumpets; 1971 Jensen Interceptor

The Jensen Interceptor followed the classic formula of big American V8 shoved into a European body.  You can expect to see one destroyed in the soon to be released 6th installment of the Fast and Furious movie franchise, or you can buy one for less than the cost of a new Civic.  This 1971 Jensen Interceptor is for sale in Eugene, OR currently bidding on ebay for $15,600 reserve-not-met with a few hours to go.

15k: 1973 Pontiac GTO Sport Coupe - 3spd Manual

Many ebay sellers tend to use the tactic of giving less information and hoping the buyers gloss over any deficiencies and just feel happy to get a car that matches his make/model/price requirements.  We don't really like this method as it causes much heartache when the car is finally delivered, or better - when the buyer arrives with cash and still has the option of walking away.  The much better approach is to over-saturate the buyer with photos and information and hope that the person who buys the car does weigh all pros vs. cons and is ultimately happy with the purchase.  Today's feature is an exercise in over-saturation of information and will take a large chunk of your day to read/digest, but it is a 1973 Pontiac GTO Sport Coupe with 3spd manual transmission for sale in Bensalem, PA, currently bidding on ebay for $12,850 with less than one day to go.

20k: 1973 BMW 2002 Imola Red, Immaculate

Here at the Daily Turismo we prefer our '70s classics to be in great shape, but often aren't willing to pay the premium for perfect cars.  We don't mind a few cuts/bruises and our rides look more like Courtney Love than Kourtney Kardashian.  However, today's featured ride is much more trailer queen than trailer trash but has a matching price tag too!  This 1973 BMW 2002 is just about perfect and offered for sale in Pittsford, MI via ebay, currently bidding at $20,000 reserve-not-met with 2 days to go.

5k: 1960 Ford Falcon 2dr Wagon; Ansel Adams!

The Falcon was Ford's small car offering from 1960-1070 and was available as a coupe, sedan and wagon.  We still maintain that the Falcon is great deal compared to most 1960s cars and we love wagons, so what could be better than a combination of both?  This 1960 Ford Falcon 2-door wagon is for sale in Joliet, IL for the bargain price of $5500 via craigslist. (Thanks to tip from DT regular Scot).

5k: 1968 Volvo 122S Wagon; Ansel Adams!

We recently published the outline of our special feature on How to Buy a Used Car - but today we found a car that is being sold by someone who could write the book on How to Sell a Used Car.  This 1968 Volvo 122S is for sale on autotraderclassics.com for $3,500 and is located behind the lens of a superb photographer in Seattle, WA.
