The Touareg name is pronounced ˈtuːaʁɛk according to the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), but then I don't know how to pronounce an upside down smallcaps R or a backwards E, so it really doesn't helpful -- what is helpful is this handy Touareg pronunciation guide brought to you by Top Gear BBC dubbed for Russian TV.

ReplyDeleteI'd actually make the poor decision to consider one of these if they had a 3rd row of seats.
Since it's a Buyback, VW is under no more responsibility to fix ANYTHING, Even safety recalls. This could get expensive as more skeletons fall out of the VW closet.

My brother sent me this ad from craigslist Thursday morning before it was posted here with his only comment "interesting". While he knows I have a fondness for unique cars, I'm not sure what I did to deserve this?
ReplyDeleteBTW-buy back was for a faulty ECM according to the seller. I remember these dominating in Dakar, but I also remember the customer complaints.
The Dakar racers were Touaregs in name only. They had a mid-mounted inline 5-cylinder TDI with a series turbo system in a tube chassis...
