Graham Oats is one of those pre-digital age hot rodders whose legacy is difficult to understand, even though he worked alongside guys like George Barris (who actually has a website). Oats, on the other hand, has the unfortunately coincidence of being named after a hot breakfast and resulting google searches return little information, except from a few folks who have owned one of his creations. You can probably find books in a library featuring his stuff, and maybe someone can add some details in the comments. However, the seller of this car has promised to donate 100% of the proceeds from the sale to a scholarship fund for kids doing vehicle customization at El Camino College. The story from the seller is that Oats built this thing in Torrance while taking welding classes at El Camino College, but went to the great junkyard in the sky in 2012. He never finished this steel beast, but it is inexplicably powered by a longitudinally mounted Pontiac Fiero V6.
Technically if this is a '29 model year, it should be a Model A, but the seller claims little knowledge of the car's history in the comments section even though Miss.Rosie has sold hundreds of classic car parts in the last 12 months. Regardless, the donation of proceeds to support Graham Oats' legacy is a great thing.
