The Pontiac Fiero is one of those 1980s cars that evokes an instant love/hate reaction from most gear-heads. Some love it for its mid engine handling and low entry price, while others hate it for shoddy build quality and a total lack of good performance in any guise. This 1987 Pontiac Fiero GT is equipped with V6 and manual trans, currently bidding on ebay for $3250 with 12 hours to go. This black on grey beauty looks good in the photos, but a closer inspection in person is always a good idea with black cars.
The GM 2.8 liter L44 V6 puts out 140 horsepower and 170 ft-lbs of torque. It looks recently spit shined.
The Fiero is classic low rent plastics and fabric from the GM parts bin.
All complaints aside - this is a decent bit of car for $3500..tempting...

~ i think i understand why so many of these became Lambo replicas; their owners couldn't stand looking at that disfigured nose piece! this seller has used up his 2013 allotment of ArmourAll.
ReplyDeleteI'd ask the seller a LOT of questions. There's virtually ZERO information about the car. No cats, nothing about clean title... The price is very good but my eyes were hurting from all the armor all and wax on it. Like the fact that its a 6 cylinder with a stick. Many of these were auto (( Wouldn't mind looking at it had it been local. Wouldn't even dream about buying this particular one without a thorough PPI
ReplyDeleteI agree with the above comments. Seller has a lot of nice cars on ebay right now, seems to be getting good money for them too. Fun just to look over - many look like typical old-timer's Florida cars.
ReplyDeleteGM had a chance to make a really nice sports car here but, as usual, they cheaped out on quality and performance. I am always wary of cars that have more ArmorAll than GIECO has ads on TV.
ReplyDeleteDon't trash the car because you don't like wax. I have owned three Fiero's and they have been enjoyable dependable cars. My current 87 GT does a great job at competing in autocross & slalom events. Its a good looking fun car.
