In 1984 the XJ generation of the Jeep Cherokee was released into the public, but it used a modern unibody monocoque instead of the traditional body-on-frame setup of the previous Jeepy things. This meant it was lighter and less clunky to drive around town than previous huge Jeep monsters, but still off road capable because it all wheel drive and torquey motors.  However, this next Cherokee is no ordinary example, if fact it is a Jeep Wagoneer Limited, not related to the Grand Wagoneer, but a highly optioned XJ with a unique headlight setup that makes it hard to miss. Back before crossovers, SUVs, SAVs, CUVs, minvans, tall wagons, and 5-door hatchbacks, if you wanted a long roof people/stuff hauler you had one genre of vehicle to consider: the station wagon. There were two subsets; a wagon could be based on a car or on a truck chassis. What pundits would now call a "traditional body-on-frame SUV" was just known as a station wagon through most of the 20th century, and this category would include such greats as the Chevy Suburban, International Travelall, and Jeep Wagoneer. The Jeep Wagoneer was arguably the world's first luxury 4x4 sport utility vehicle, combining rugged off-road capability with a few touches of luxury (wood panels, comfy interior, etc).   Unfortunately, the combination of rugged off-road chassis and luxury features/performance add up to one heavyweight gas guzzler and consumables cruncher; tires, brakes, etc. will need to be replaced more often than a standard car-based wagon.  The result is a car that isn't quite collectible like a sports car, and may not be practical as a daily driver like many other cheap classics.
