Trade for Toilet Paper: 1981 Toyota Corona Station Wagon

Happy Pi Day! With all of the corona virus related pandemonium running through the public eye, I wonder if it'll spill over into cars -- with the classic Toyota Corona be shunned because it shares a first name with the nasty crown shaped virus that seems to be performing the job of a crappy version of Thanos' Infinity Gauntlet. The corona virus will pass (hopefully soon) but this Corona Station Wagon will still be driving for years. Find this 1981 Toyota Corona Station Wagon offered for $8,500 in San Mateo, CA via craigslist. Tip from Kaibeezy.

Lemon Meringue: 1994 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4

It is Pi-day today, time to enjoy a slice of lemon meringue. Tipper SecondMouse sent in the following car with some commments: Back in the day, this car, which Road and Track called "...too far ahead of its time.", was forced to stand in the shade of the Toyota Supra. The Mitsu 3000 was a technological tour de force for it's time, perhaps too much so for buyers in that era. If you have priced a running 90's- era Supra lately, you might be thinking that a car like this VR4 is a buy at this price point. You might be right, banana yellow and all. Find this 1994 Mitsubishi 3000gt VR4 offered for $7900 in Houston, TX via craigslist.

Apple Pie: 1988 Mazda RX-7

It is Pi-day today, time to enjoy a slice of apple pie, because what is more 'murican than a small block chevy shoved into a Japanese chassis?  The Mazda RX-7 is a regular recipient of domestic V8 power infusion -- certainly not because the Wankel is an inherently unreliable spinning piece of machinery, but potentially because the second generation RX-7 has a decent engine bay size and a chassis that can handle the torques and acceleration that comes with moooooooore displacement.  Find this 1988 Mazda RX7 offered for $6,500 in Mt Vernon, WA via craigslist.  Tip from FuelTruck.

$3,141.59: π-day: 2001 Lexus LS430

Happy Pi Day to all math nerds out on the web.  Today is a unique Pi Day -- 3.14.16 -- a nicely rounded version of the irrational number that was closely approximated with polygons by the Greek mathematician Archimedes around 250 BC.  Around here we celebrate Pi Day by finding a car priced as close to $3,141.59 as we can get, like this 2001 Lexus LS430 bidding here on eBay for $3,150 with 2 days to go, located in Addison, TX.

5k: Pie Interceptor: 1996 Ford Mustang GT Pi Engine

Some folks say that Pi day is overrated and they prefer to wait for Pi-approximation day (22-7), because they use European style month-date standard.  Well, to those pedantic Euro-centric party poopers we say; go pound sand, it's 1:59 and I'm stuffing my face with pie.  Speaking of Pi, our roundup continues with this Pi-powered Mustang, which you might assume that a dozen clowns would come piling out of it at any time...but what if P.I. was short for Police Interceptor?  Find this 1996 Ford Mustang GT with PI engine offered for $3,000 in Cleveland, OH via craigslist.

$3,141.59: π-day: 1991 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Coupe

Next year is going to be a huge year for the Pi-ists around the world, at least for some of them.  Pi adherents fall into two major buckets, the Pi-integers and the Pi-rounders. Pi-integers believe that the big millenial Pi-year celebration should be done on 3-14-15 while the Pi-rounders believe it should be done on 3-14-16.  The Pi-rounders are in the minority, but just be careful of your surroundings next Pi day because certain members of the Pi-rounders belong to a fractional cell of Al Qaeda, called Al Chimedes and are not known to fool a round.  This next Pi-day feature is as close to a $3,141.59 priced car we could find on the interwebs.  Find this 1991 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Coupe offered for $3,138 in Plainfield, IN via autotrader.com.

5k: Pi Day: 1989 Cadillac Allanté, Interior By Pi
