Grounded To The Ground: 2005 Subaru Legacy GT

This next car comes as tip from Jeff who writes: Nice long roof for the money! It does need a bit of work, but doesn't seem huge for the right person.  I like it because I like Subie wagons, but I think this one is too grounded to the ground for me...and the color is odd..but it is a wrap that could probably be removed exposing the original blue paint..which probably has flaking clearcoat and lots of scratches.  Maybe leave the wrap. LS1 Swapped: 1995 Nissan 240SX S14 Silvia

The S14 generation Nissan Silvia was badged in North America as the Nissan 240SX and is a favorite among drifters.  Drifter? Not the sketchy train surfing murderer kinda drifter, but the drives with gobs full over oversteer style drifter.  The US version was powered by a 2.4 liter 4-cylinder that only produced 155 horsepower...which is fine for drifting if you are Keiichi Tsuchiya, but normal people will need more zoom zoom to get sideways...so you'll want a Silvia with an LS1 V8 like this 1995 Nissan 240SX S14 Silvia offered for $12,500 in Gray, GA via craigslist. Radio Flyer: 2004 Subaru Forester XT

The Subaru Forester hit the showrooms in 1997 with the marketing slogan "SUV tough, car easy."  It was Subaru's first entry into the (then small, now large) segment known as the crossover SUV, but the Forester was a long way away from being an AMC Eagle.  The Forester was a replacement for the incredibly named Subaru Impreza Gravel Express, but by 2004 it was actually a competent on-road car that shared parts with the GG series Impreza.  Today, a used Forester with a manual gearbox makes a great family hauler for a guy like Doctordel, but is this next one a bit too modified?  Find this 2004 Subaru Forester XT 5-speed offered for $15,000 via NASIOC forums.

5k: Screaming Pistons: 2000 Honda S2000 AP1

The Honda S2000 was a fantastically well built roadster with a high revving inline-4 that was sold from 1999 through 2009.  In the decade of production just over 110,000 units were assembled for world wide consumption, with 66,000 heading to the USA.  In the aftermath of the 2008 Carpocalypse, Honda scrapped the intended successor, but don't fret, because you can pickup a used S2000 for peanuts.  Find this 2000 Honda S2000 offered for $7,455 in Destin, FL here on craigslist.  Tip from Randall.

15k: The Green Monster: 1953 White Motors 3000 Truck

 The White Motor Company was founded around the turn of the 20th century by Rollin H. White in a corner of his father's sewing machine factory.  The first few years of production actually used the White Sewing Machine Company logo on advertisements and were steam powered.  Over the years White Motor Company switched from steam powered passenger cars (included one that was used by early Secret Service agents to shield camera shy President William H Taft with a well timed burst of steam) to only trucks and later only heavy duty trucks.  Post WWII White Motors trucks are particularly cool because they are heavy duty and a window to a forgotten time in American manufacturing.  Find this 1953 White Motors 3000 custom truck here on eBay, currently bidding for $12,100 reserve-not-met with 3 days to go, located in San Ramon, CA.

10k: Classic SEMA Car: 1998 Ford Taurus SHO Rage Concept

The third generation Ford Taurus SHO was built from 1996 to 1999, with the last example leaving the assembly line in June of 1999.  It seems strange then, that Ford would have released a Ford Taurus Rage Concept car at the November 1998 SEMA (Special Equipment Manufacturer's Association) trade show, but sometimes in these big companies the guy who is folding the toilet paper has no idea who is going to wipe the butt and doesn't care.  Regardless, an SHO concept car has been bouncing around on ebay for at least the past decade with various sources of conflicting information dating to the early days of the internet.
