5k: Seller Submission: 1984 BMW 533i

You don't need to be a BMW fanboy to love the e28 generation 5-series...but it does help to be a lover of cheap junk.  What other car can you pickup for pennies that combines the looks of a classic with the ability to drive around every day?  Find this 1984 BMW 533i offered for $5,000 in New Haven, CT via craigslist.  Seller submission from David.

The BMW 533i was only sold in 1983 and 1984 -- and according to wikipedia was the fastest sedan available for sale in the US of A in 1983 with a top speed of 134 mph.   This example look nicely equipped with a set of aftermarket springs/shocks and looks ready for business.

Powering the 533i is a 3.2 liter M30 inline-6 putting out 181 horsepower and 195 ft-lbs of torque.  For comparison a 1984 Corvette made 205 horsepower from its 5.7 liter V8.

This 533i is equipped with the preferred 5-speed manual gearbox that makes driving a pleasure instead of a chore.
