Flash: Rollin' Coal: 1963 Cadillac Sedan DeVille Cummins I-6 Diesel Swap

Just a quick DT Flash article since this listing expires in a few hours and I just found it.  Anyway - if you've ever wanted to roll in classic Cadillac style while rolling coal, this is pretty much your best opportunity.  Find this 1963 Cadillac Sedan DeVille Cummins I-6 Diesel Swap currently bidding for $6,300 with a few hours to go on ebay, located in Grand Junction, CO.

What started out as a big block V8 equipped Cadillac DeVille sedan is now powered by an inline-6 Cummins turbo diesel from some big truck.

The big heavy duty diesel engine should be great for torque, killing the ozone, blackening the sky, killing whales, etc.

The strangest stuff emerges from garages every spring when most of the USA comes out of the arctic chill of winter.  tips@dailyturismo.com

  1. Wow...that's the venerable Cummins 6BT which could have as much as 350 hp and 650 lb ft of torque!

  2. Why, why, why? Someone has a faulty personal delusion system.

  3. While I like the idea of have a comfortable, drive able living room with couch that's good on fuel. This conversion needs an exhaust running the length of the car as it is a big luxury cruiser. I don't remember what the cad v-8 weighs I know a I-6 Cummins weighs in at just under 1000lbs. It no wonder the car supposedly handles well as the front springs are probably flat. I would add a complete air ride system to this thing to sort out the ride. This kind of swap is right up my alley and I would love to take this thing to the next level.....if only I had the cash.
