Every website with a healthy commenter base claims they have the best readers/commenters. Unfortunately, most automotive related website comment sections are filled with the meandering invective of 15 year old kids and pedants. Not here. Here at the Daily Turismo, we truly do have the best commenters in the world. This week's COW award goes to a regular contributor who writes: In that third photo above, what I find most interesting is that the P1800 looks right at home alongside the Pagoda and the Speedster. Unless you are a classic car slut, you really can't tell that one is an order of magnitude more expensive than the other. It reinforces my belief that you really don't need to be bursting at the seams with $$$ in order to enjoy a nice old classic (though it doesn't hurt). I find this democratization of classic car ownership to be refreshing.

Why so many Volvo's and Volvo features ect?
ReplyDeleteNot saying that I dislike the brand or the features just seems to be a predominant feature on the website. Just looking for some variety keep up the good work love the site.
DT was never meant to be a Volvo site, but most of our features try to honor the tips that are sent in by posting them. We happen to have attracted (for good or bad) a large cadre of Volvo lovers. They send us tips. If you want to see more variety, tip us with the occasional Buick Reatta or 71 Vega Kammback that floats your boat.
DeletePersonally, I think if we post too many of anything, it is Volvos and BMWs, but people keep finding cool ones, so it is hard to resist!
~ full agreement. the Volvo focus evolved naturally and some other cars may seem to have been short-suited. having been quite busy moving and preparing to build a new shop i have neglected to some degree, my favorite role as tipster/commenter. when pressure lets up a bit DT is where i spend my leisure hours.

As a 15 yr old pedantic kid I resemble your remarks. Not to mention the Pagoda. Speedster and 1800ES are three of my favorite models, having owned a '67 230 SL...almost had a '72 1800ES with a steel sunroof! and will never be able to afford a Speedster. And in contravention to the mild whines of the Volvo haters.........don't care what you feature! Love it all....well except the Vrgas
