The Lincoln Mk VII was yet another Wixom, MI assembled Fox-body based two door from the Ford parts catalog. The Lincoln was powered by the same 5.0 liter Ford Windsor V8 that was put into millions of other Fox-body cars, but the Lincoln never got the hopped up Mustang Cobra engine...until now. Find this 1988ish Lincoln Mk VII LSC with Mustang Cobra Power for sale in Newport, NC. Tip from Art C.
The original engine from this Mk VII has been replaced with a 5.0 liter V8 from a 1993 Mustang Cobra and is good for 235 horsepower and 280 ft-lbs of torque. The seller doesn't mention if the Cobra 5-spd gearbox came over with the transplant, but no mention of trans probably means it still uses the stock 4-spd slushbox. The troublesome air bag suspension in the rear has been replaced with conventional Mustang springs and a 3.73 rear end, so this thing should have decent git-up-and-go.
This could be a viable Mustang alternative to someone who likes the idea of a Fox in plus-size sheep's clothing - it should benefit from most of the same aftermarket upgrade support for drivetrain and suspension, but good luck finding body & interior bits if those should be needed.

Kind of a bad application for a fox-body cobra motor, right? There can't be many of these engines around.

And for only $2900 too. Wicked. I'd buy it just to say "This ain't yer grandma's Lincoln!" while doing burnouts at every stoplight, stop sign, parking lot exit, McDonald's drive through, traffic stop (sorry officer), and toll booth.
