The Triumph GT6 was a Giovanni Michelotti (of Triumph Herald and BMW 2002 fame) designed fastback based on the Spitfire 4 chassis and built from 1966-1973 in three distinct generations. The GT6 is a unique looking car and will confuse most non-car people. This author knew a guy who daily drove one for years and would find himself surrounded by looky-loos, people who thought it was a Ferrari and camera wielding Japanese tourists on the regular basis...and his wasn't covered in stickers! Stickers make every gas station trip more interesting.
The GT6 is powered by Triumph's over-head valve inline-6 that displaces 2.0 liters and puts out 104 horsepower...perhaps a few more give this one's upgraded cam and carbs. The GT6 isn't a fast car in today's overpowered traffic, but it was fast in comparison to the small displacement inline-4 powered Triumphs, MGs and Healeys of the day.

Always loved the style if these, rubber fangs notwithstanding. Wasn't there a big difference in the rear suspension setups between generations, also, or am I just rapidly losing cerebral function? And hose decals better be amenable to removal with a heat gun...
