Signature Series: 1993 Lincoln Town Car

This is all the money (and then some) for a '93 Lincoln Town Car...but if you are in the market for something strange from the 90s with super low miles...you don't have many choices. But the only problem with this car is that you can't drive it.  The second the odo turns into quintuple digits, the fun is over.  So you've got about 2100 miles before you've got to park it again or take a $10k hit on the "value".  Is it just me, or has this car collecting thing turned into stamp collecting?  But I still appreciate the shockingly nice condition of this someday-it'll-be-a-classic. Former Embassy Car: 2004 Lincoln Town Car L

The 3rd and final generation of the Lincoln Town Car was built from 1998 through 2011 on a chassis shared with the Ford Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis/Marauder, and Hongqi Qijian.  Out of the million Town Cars built in this generation, a few were of the plus "long wheelbase" version that added 6 inches of rear seat legroom, and remote access to the climate control and radio. This particular long wheelbase Town Car was ostensibly used by a Moroccan Diplomat, but you will feel like royalty no matter your actual station in life when you ride in the back of this thing. Son Of A Donk: 1998 Lincoln Town Car Cartier

The third and final generation Lincoln Town Car was sold from 1998 until 2011.  Panther platform fans, taxi companies, and police departments all over the US bemoaned the eventual death knell of body of frame Town Car, Crown Vic, and Grand Marquis.  Town Cars came stock with 16" wheels fitted with tall smooth riding 60 series tires.  Today's feature goes way in the opposite direction by fitting a absolutely bananas set of 26" wheels and rubber band tires to donk out this poor TC.   Find this 1998 Lincoln Town Car for sale in Orange, NJ for $4,495 or B/O via eBay.

Malaise Cygnet: 1978 Lincoln Custom Coupe'

It may look it, but your computer screen is not out of focus.  One of the biggest behemoths to roam the highways in the late 1970's has been shrunken to closely resemble a Shriners parade car.   The entire backseat, rear doors, and corresponding wheel base length out of a Town Car sedan have all been removed to create this Lincoln two seater coupe'.   Find this 1978 Lincoln Custom Coupe' for sale in Cheltenham , PA for $4,000 via craigslist.

Loony Labor Day: 1995 Lincoln Ranchero Town Truck

Let's start off Loony Labor Day with a simple custom that isn't any more bizarre than the average crap classics we post on a regular basis.  This homage to Homerica started out as a second generation (1990-1997) Lincoln Town Car sitting on the Panther platform shared with the Mercury Grand Marquis and Ford's Crown Victoria.  It has been converted into an El Camino a Ranchero style pickup complete with Town Truck badging.  What could go wrong?  Find this 1995 Lincoln Ranchero Town Truck offered for $4,850 in Loves Park, IL via craigslist. 10k: Ultra Low Miles: 1990 Lincoln Town Car

The Lincoln Town Car was a favorite of octogenarians, cabbies, chauffeurs...and...welll...that is about it.  It wasn't a bad car per se...it had just lived well past the expiration date on Ford's aging design guidelines.  In spite of all that, it sold surprisingly well for a luxury car, with over 100k units during most years during the second generation (1990-1997).  Most for sale today were originally sold as fleet cars that now have 1/2 a million miles on the clock, but this one is almost new.  Find this 1990 Lincoln Town Car with 9500 miles on the odometer for $10,900 in Bozeman, MT.  Tip from Oldsmobuick.

10k: El Camino'd Town Car: 1991 Lincoln Linchero

 The 1991 Lincoln Town Car (2nd generation) was the first Ford product to get the new 4.6 liter modular V8 engine that replaced the 5.0 in everything by the year 2000.  The town car was a simple sedan, but if was purchased in large quantities for taxi and luxury transport needs, so what better test bed to rack up miles on the new engine design.  The Town Car was only available as a sedan, so if you wanted a pickup, you'll need to head into the deep south.  Find this (tragically named) 1991 Lincoln Linchero offered for $8,500 in Waynesboro, MS via craigslist.  Tip from Sneedy.
