Corvair Custom Thing: 1968 Centaur Sport Coupe

The world is full of odd stuff with strange names that don't make sense.  There was an Australian sports racing car called the Centaur...but this next thing ain't that.  There was also something called the Centaur GT that was built in the UK back in the 1970s...but again...this isn't it. This is something that looks like a kit car version of the Ford GT such as a Fiberfab Valkyrie...but I'm not sure what I'm looking at.  Anyway, find this 1968 Centaur Sport Coupe offered for $6,500 in Pasadena, CA via craigslist. Tip from Rock On!

Italian Stallion: 1969 Fiat 850 Sport Coupe

The cost of entry into the "cool" car club is getting ridiculous these days, and I'm not just talking about Ferraris, Porsches, Supras, but even simple 1st gen Mustangs in great shape are pricy, BUT, you can still find interesting cars in good shape that just aren't that "desirable" for whatever reason. You've just got to be creative.  Find this 1969 Fiat 850 Sport Coupe offered for $14,500 near Phoenix, AZ via craigslist. Tip from FuelTruck.

Power Blue: 1962 Pontiac Catalina Sport Coupe

The big issue with the majority of classic muscle cars for sale on the web is that they are overpriced...and I'm not talking about sellers who are just asking too much, but I'm also talking about the general state of the market.  Fortunately, you can still find an occasional original condition classic for a reasonable pile of cash, like this 1962 Pontiac Catalina Sport Coupe here on eBay offered for $9,200 located in Dayton, OH.

Please No Scammers! 1973 Fiat 124 Sport Coupe

The 124 Sport Coupe was a 2-door three-box styled classic (with the nickname "Tartufo," Italian for truffle) from Fiat designed by the same guy who penned the Ferrari 250GT, Fiat 600 and Simca 1000.  The final iteration of the Sport Coupe was the CC version that included revised front/rear styling and a bigger engine.  The 4-cylinder all-alloy powerplant puts out 100 horsepower via a 5-speed manual gearbox into the rear end.  They are typically very expensive, so I'm not sure why this one is so cheap!  Find this 1973 Fiat 124 Sport Coupe offered for $8000 in Stonington, CT via craigslist.  Tip from Rock On!

Guilty Pleasure: 1990 Corvette ZR-1

Mention the word Corvette and it conjures up all kinds of memories associated with America's super car.  Boogie Nights...Corvette Summer...Pootie Tang...and old guys in plaid golf shorts with a bleach blonde Barbie in the right seat.  I swore I would never consider a Corvette, yet here I am contemplating one of the best bangs for your buck in the used sports car world today.  Find this 1990 Corvette ZR-1 for sale in Dover, NH for $16,500 via craigslist.

Hungry Shark: 1987 Porsche 928 S4

Porsche ownership comes at a cost.  First, there is the initial price of the car, which if found cheap usually means many more hondos will be required to bring it up to road worthiness.  Next up is the scheduled & yearly maintenance costs...not for the faint of heart if you can't turn wrenches yourself.  Lastly, the potential cost of a relationship when your significant other finds you cuddled up in the garage next to a voluptuous 320 HP beauty tinkering with all her quirks.  Find this 1987 Porsche 928 S4 for sale near San Diego, CA for $4,900 via craigslist.

Secondo Round: 1984 Alfa Romeo GTV6

A few weeks back I wrote about my inept ability with all things Italian featuring a mid-seventies GTV Alfa.  DT readers are an educated bunch and I learned a lot about the car in question.  The world of Italian cars is still a black hole for me, but I look forward to pulling up my intelligence.  Shall we try this again?  Find this 1984 Alfa Romeo GTV6 for sale near Los Angeles, CA for $11,900 OBO via craigslist.

Ran When Parked: 1979 Buick LeSabre Sport Coupe

by Kevin --Before the GNX, before the Grand Nationals and T-Types there were the Buick Sport Coupes. The main attraction to these packages was the carbureted, turbocharged V6. This engine was available beginning in 1978 in the Regal, LeSabre, Century and Riviera. Find this 1979 Buick LeSabre Sport Coupe resting in the weeds, somewhere in South Dakota for $3,000 obo.

Bavarian Fins: 1963 BMW 700 Sport Coupe

Before BMW was known for its M series, iDrive, and xDrive, they had offerings in the same market as the air-cooled VW Beetle.  It doesn't get a whole lot more basic than the Isetta when it comes to enclosed transportation, but in the years to follow you could get something more conventional looking from BMW.  As modest as it seems, this flyweight happens to be a champion for the marque.  Find this 1963 BMW 700 Sport Coupe here on eBay here on eBay for sale in Lyons, CO bidding at $5,000.
Thanks to TheStig for the tip!

4k: Spaghetti Western: 1974 Fiat 124 Sport Coupe

The Fiat 124 Sport Coupe pilfered most of the sedan's components and the Spider's five-speed manual transmission in the sedan-inspired three-box design. It had a more menacing aura than the doe-eyed Spider, yet offered more versatility and similar performance. This CC-generation 124 has shed its I-beam bumpers but retained the hardy 1.8-liter engine. Lest there be any doubt to its national origins of the rustic (that's an emotional trigger word for Fiat owners because for a minute there it sounds like you're saying rust) Italian countryside, it comes with the color palette of an Italian cafe. Find this 1974 Fiat 124 Sport Coupe for sale in Houston, TX for $3,950 via craigslist.

5k: Freshen It Again Tomorrow: 1971 Fiat 850 Sport Coupe, Restomod

The Fiat 850 was a funky rear-engined classic available as a sedan (berlina), sport coupe, familiare (bus), spider and wagon.  We've featured a number of these rear-engined 850s, because they offer the vintage charm of a much more expensive vehicle.  Find this 1971 Fiat 850 Sport Coupe for sale in Kent, WA currently bidding for $4,450 reserve-not-met with 3 days to go.

15k: Batman's Truffle: 1975 Fiat 124 Sport Coupe CC

Today's first feature comes in the form of a seller submission from Batman.  Seriously.  Not joking.  The first part of the seller's last name is Batman and in our mind he fights crime by day and plays a millionaire debutante by night. This Batman doesn't drive some Hollywood CGI-enhanced custom based on a Chevy Impala chassis, he drives a Fiat.  Find this 1975 Fiat 124 Sport Coupe CC for $14,500 in Washington, D.C. via craigslist. Seller submission from Batman.
