Save The Saber Teeth: 1960 Buick LeSabre

The Buick LeSabre (which wikipedia indicates in the best Bob Newhart style is French for "the sabre") was introduced in 1959 based on the B-body platform shared with the Pontiac Catalina and Oldsmobile 88.  It is a big behemoth of a classic more at home on the wild plains of Detriot's long boulevards than a twisty back road, but you might have some work to do on this next one before it goes anywhere.  Find this 1960 Buick LeSabre here on copart.com offered for $3,900 buy-it-now, located in Madison, WI. 1k: Practically Ridiculous: 1997 Buick LeCamino

The 7th generation Buick LeSabre was available as a 4-door sedan based on General Motor's H-platform, sharing its dependable chassis with the Oldsmobile 88 and Pontiac Bonneville.  Dependable not in terms of reliability, but in terms of the number of cases of Depends adult diapers you could fit in the trunk.  Twelve to fourteen cases was not unheard of meaning your post rush hour weekday trips to Costco could be limited.  It seems that somebody decided that wasn't enough and created the ultimate hauler.  Find this 1997 Buick LeCamino offered for $1450 in the SF Bay Area, CA via craigslist. 10k: The Thriftiest Buick: 1959 Buick LeSabre Survivor

The LeSabre name first appeared on a 1950 GM concept car, designed by Harley Earl, and credited for introducing revolutionary aerospace design elements such as wrap around windows and tailfins to the automotive universe.  The LeSabre name was not used on a Buick model until 1959 and it was a rebranding of the Buick Special, a low-end full sized car (remember that before 1961 Buick had offered nothing but full-sized cars).  Today a '59 LeSabre looks pretty nice, but it is the absolute entry level model/equipment for a '59 Buick.  Still a cool cruiser but its not very representative of the Buick level of luxury, even Buick referred to it as "the Thriftiest Buick" instead of using the word "Cheapest".  Find this 1959 Buick LeSabre Survivor currently bidding for $9,851 on ebay, located in Portland, OR with a few hours to go.

5k: Cheap and Odd: 1989 Buick LeSabre T-Type

The Buick LeSabre was first launched in 1959 as the entry level full-sized Buick; in truth it was simply a rename of the Buick Special. The LeSabre soldiered on for 26 years as the cheap rear-drive full-sized Buick, but in 1985 it was moved to the H-body front drive platform.  It isn't like the previous B-Body LeSabre was some sort of paradigm for sportiness, but the product managers at Buick felt they needed to release something to satisfy both of the living Buick performance enthusiasts, so in 1987 they released the LeSabre T-Type...and nobody noticed.  Find this 1989 Buick LeSabre T-Type for sale in the city of Guelph, Ontario (Canada?) for $3,000 CDN ($2692 actual dollars) via the LeSabret.com forums.

5k: Bucket List: 2002 Buick LeSabre Custom

The Buick LeSabre had the title of best selling full sized car in North America when it was discontinued in 2004. Why Buick discontinued a best seller or why a Buick would have been a best seller in 2004 is lost to us, but the fact remains that boat loads of old folks bought and still buy new full sized Buicks.  The result is a regular supply of lightly used Buicks of recent vintage when the owners kick the bucket...hence the addition of this LeSabre to DT's bucket list.  Find this 2002 Buick LeSabre for sale in Richmond, VA currently bidding on ebay for $4,350 reserve-not-met with 4 days to go.
