One of the consequences of vehicles becoming so valuable that they become art is that if you used them for their primary purpose, you'd diminish their value.  This bike is beautifully turned out and is probably better than it was when it left Spain over 50 years ago.  However if you were to get it to run and rode it down some single track, you'd probably be out half of the asking price.  Sad, really.   Find this 1966 Bultaco Matador Mk2 Model 16 for sale in Olympia, WA for $7,950 via craigslist.

Calling Collect: Vintage Motorcycle Collection

Taco Tuesday: 1966 Bultaco Mercurio

Bultaco is best known (if known at all) for their off-road successes in the 1960's.  Bikes like the Sherpa, Pursang, and Alpina are legendary.  Bultaco also tried their hand at on-road bikes.  In 1965 they brought out the Mercurio 175, or Mercury in Spanish, advertising it in the U.S. as the Sassy Devil with "small bike maneuverability in a full size motorcycle."  Find this 1966 Bultaco Mecurio for sale at a vintage car dealer in Seattle, WA for $5,995.

Trials of Life: 1974 Bultaco Sherpa T 350

There is nothing more cozy than sitting in your living room in a comfy chair by the fire on a cold winter's evening.  Except maybe sitting on a vintage trials bike in your living room next to the fire on a cold winter's evening.  And since it's a trials bike maybe you can ride it around the room and over the couch as well.  Find this Bultaco Sherpa T 350 Model 151 for sale in Santa Cruz, CA for $4,000 via craigslist.

Taco Tuesday: 1975 Bultaco Pursang 360

If you grew up in rural or suburban America in the 60's or 70's your first experience with powered wheels that you could control by yourself was probably with a dirt bike.  Back then you could ride all over trails near where you lived and there was probably a motocross track nearby.  You also had a wide range of bike manufacturers to choose from beyond the big Japanese 3.  Bultaco was a Spanish bike manufacturer known for their two stroke enduro, motocross and trials bikes from the late 50's to the early 80's.  Bultaco's premier model was the Pursang.  Not only fun to say, it was powerful and had excellent handling.  Today, $5K isn't going to buy you much on 4 wheels, but for a little over $5K you can buy a restored dirt bike from the 70's.  It won't be so big of an investment that you will feel bad about using it as intended.  Find this 1975 Bultaco Pursang 360 on Craiglist in Watsonville, CA
