5k: Crime Scene Injection: 1973 BMW 3.0 CSi Horrorod

Hello, boils and ghouls, welcome to another episode of Tales from the Byre.  Today's story revolves around the extensive application of moisture to a beautiful BMW coupe and the resulting transformation into the disfigured Horrorod you see on this page.  Enjoy this 1973 BMW 3.0 CSi while you can, because it might be for sale in Beverly Hills, CA for $6,950 or best offer today, but in a few days it shall  return to mother Earth.  Tip from the The Hack Mechanic.



Looking at this car reminded me that I need a tetanus booster shot...maybe two.  Remember the Subaru BRAT where I complained about the seller's claim: "99% rust free?"  This car, the seller would need to say, no rust on the plastic pieces? Or-- For sale: One used BMW 3.0 CSi VIN plate.  Please haul away the body.


Please, pay no attention to the rust behind the curtain.  This car has a very early prototype braking system that will jettison the heavy engine/front clip in the event of significant brake activity.  


Ack!  The horror!!  An automatic transmission.  How can this seller claim that this is a complete car? At least 10% of the visible sheetmetal is missing. Not to mention just about everything in the interior save the seat (frames) and the skeleton of the dash.

    1973 BMW 3.0 CSI = Corrosion Scene Investigation. The perps removed every possible piece of value before our investigators arrived. We must have startled them while they were cutting bits off the corpse. Let's get the auto-topsy over with so this can be given a decent burial.

    Ah yes, the Beverly Hills CC guys. Check out their site, they have quite a few horror-rods for sale. Observe, this poor Alfa just begging to be put out of its misery.

    Almost as bad as $5k for whats left of this poor 356.

    This must have been covered before, but Beverly Hills CC is nowhere near Beverly Hills. It's actually in an industrial area east of Downtown LA. East Los Car Club would be a more appropriate name.

    The amazing thing about the pictures is, that they show the underside and actually managed to find some intact floor for the lift to make contact. I'd be scared to jack that thing up for fear it would get impaled.
