The BMW Neue Klasse (new class) is primarily known for its 2-door version, the 1600/2000/2002, but they made quite a few of the 4-door sedan version. The 4-door version shared engines, transmissions and mechanical parts with the 2-door version but offers a little more access for the family man, and is much more rare on the road today. Find this 1967 BMW 1600 Sedan offered for $9,000 in Beverly Hills, CA via craigslist.
This Neue Klasse is offered as a California survivor car and looks in great condition in the photos. Most of the survivor sedans are rusted badly by now, but this one must have been kept inside or properly undercoated when new.
Motive power comes from a 1.6 liter inline-4 cylinder engine rated at 83 horsepower and 83 ft-lbs of torque and goes into a 4-speed manual gearbox. It won't be fast compared to 99% of the vehicles on the road, but it will be fun to try and keep pace with traffic.

Cool car - looks like the same 1600 listed in January in Redwood City, CA for $2950 with some work done to it - check the paint-less rear badge, seemingly bent rear bumper, etc. Back in May, it was at auction with a start of $11K, so the seller must have had some misconceptions about the market value.
