Project Rusty Steal: 1974 BMW 2002 tii

From time to time I am going to suggest that a car is a good deal.  A steal.  A bargain.  A pearl among swine.  A Hemi Cuda among Priuses.  Tonight, I've got a hot one.  So hot, that I am publishing it as soon as the words have finished flowing from my finger tips onto the computer screen in front of me.  Without further ado...find this 1974 BMW 2002 tii  offered for $900 in Ventura, CA via craigslist.  Tip from Sean S.

Tiighten Your Purse Strings: 1974 BMW 2002 Tii

The Tii version of BMW's fabulous 2002 sport sedan only adds a few doodads to the basic 2002, but it almost doubles the value of the vehicle due to supply/demand/rarity...yadda yadda yadda.  So, it is nice to see a 2002Tii offered for around the price of a regular 2002...albeit with some issues.  Find this 1974 BMW 2002 Tii offered for $5,750 in Tri-Cities, WA via craigslist. Scruffy Survivor: 1974 BMW 2002tii

The BMW 2002tii is a unique kind of temptress.  For years, she was a cheap way to get into something unique and sporty, but then prices took off and people started demanding silly money for the tii version and regular 2002 alike.  But recently, I've seen more and more reasonably priced tiis and each one makes you stop and wonder...is something wrong with this car?  Find this 1974 BMW 2002 Tii here on eBay bidding for $9,001 with 1 day to go, located in Riverside, CA.

DTO: Fuel Injected Hatchling: 1973 BMW 2000 Tii Touring

Everybody wants to claim they were the first to do something.  It doesn't matter that the good old USA was first to put a man on the moon in 1969, because the Ruskies can say they were the first to put an object on the moon with their Luna 2 mission in 1959, and the Chinese will point out that Shi Shen (4th century BC) was the first to accurately predict lunar eclipses -- so where does this leave us?  The point is, you don't have to be first to leave a lasting impression, you just have to be a badass about it.  BMW may not have built the first hot hatch when they built the Touring version of their successful 2000 Tii on the New Class platform, but they did a fantastic job.  Find this 1973 BMW 2000 Tii TOURING here on eBay currently bidding for $21,000 reserve-not-met with 7 days to go, located in Laguna Beach, CA.

5k: No Pictures No Problem: 1974 BMW 2002 Tii

Any advertising man worth his salt will tell you that you've got to woo your buyer with sights, sounds, and smells within the first few seconds of introducing your product to him.  Conversely, a shrewd buyer will tell you that the best deal is often found when no slick advertising schmuck is involved on the other side of the deal.  We at DT are not advertisers...nor are we buyers...but we are middle men who try to help buyers find sellers (and sometimes the other way around). When a listing shows up completely free from sights, sounds, or smells -- it could be a great deal.  Find this 1974 BMW 2002 Tii offered for $4,000 in Wilkesboro, NC.

5k: Keep Away From Stancers: 1974 BWM 2002 Tii

Any motor head worth his salt is a fan of the BMW 'new class'--introduced in 1962 with the 1500, later adding the 1600, 1800, 2000 & 2002.  The later 2002 is the choice for fun seekers around the world, and the ultra exclusive turbo version is all but unobtainable for the average man, but 2002 Tii version can still be picked up if you keep your eyes open.  Find this 1974 BWM 2002 Tii offered for $5,099 here on craigslist located in Davie, FL.  Tip from FuelTruck.

5k: Dusty And Rusty: 1974 BMW 2002 Tii

You've probably heard this before, but the BMW 2002 is a great low budget classic...except that certain hot versions are no longer low budget.  Forget trying to find a 2002 Turbo that doesn't require a Caymans bank account and even the (moderately better than a basic 2002) Tii version demands big bucks.  Not around here.  Here, everything is cheap, because we firmly believe that purchase price should be based on utility (that includes fun, since fun has a use) and not hype..unfortunately the entire classic car collectors market doesn't agree with us, but that is a different story.  Find this 1974 BMW 2002 Tii offered for $5000 in Columbus, OH via craigslist.  Tip from FuelTruck.

10k: Affordable Classic: 1972 BMW 2002 Tii

The BMW 2002 is a scrumptious collectible classic that it still affordable for the average car buyer.  The Tii version (touring internationale injected) is the premium version to get -- it adds fuel injection, rarity, and some special under hood parts to up the cool factor on an already cool car.  Tii prices have been steadily increasing for the past few years and seem like a good bet for value of a drivable classic in the next decade or so.  Find this 1972 BMW 2002 Tii currently bidding for $9,600 reserve-not-met with a few hours to go, located in Happy Valley, OR via ebay.

15k: Ending Soon: 1974 BMW 2002 Tii

Who isn't a fan of the BMW 'new class'--introduced in 1962 with the 1500, later adding the 1600, 1800, 2000 & 2002-- and particularly of the 2002 Tii.  Unfortunately for the average Fritz, the Tii models have skyrocketed in popularity and price in recent years, but that doesn't mean you can't find a nice one for less than $15k if you try really hard....like this 1974 BMW 2002 Tii currently bidding for $14k with less than one hour to go on ebay, located in Las Vegas, NV.

10k: Another BMW? 1974 BMW 2002 Tii

I can see the hate mail now.  Another BMW guys?  It is true, the front page is covered in Bavaria's finest right now...but sometimes when it rains rear-drive classics for dirt cheap prices the best thing you can do is just roll with it.  Seriously, what is the worst thing that can happen?  Find this 1974 BMW 2002 Tii offered for $9,800 via craigslist in Corte Madera, CA via craigslist.  Tip from Kaibeezy.

10k: 1974 BMW 2002Tii

We've featured the BMW 2002 in the past on the Daily Turismo because we like the rear wheel drive, manual transmissions and simple mechanical components of these lightweight two-door sedans.  The previous one was a 'restomod' (restored and modified), but this time we found one a bit closer to stock but with a few key upgrades.  This 1974 BMW 2002Tii is offered for sale in Richmond, VA via the bimmerforums.com website for $11,900 obo.
