Mid Week Match-Up: A Race Car Hauler For Matt

Today's Mid Week Match-Up request comes from Matt C who writes:  It would be nice if I had a tow vehicle capable of pulling around 4,000 to 5,000 pounds to pull a Dodge Dart race car and flatbed trailer. But not just a pickup truck - this would need to also double as a family mobile so it could haul two grown ups and two children, and be reliable enough to use as daily transportation. And my wife would want to use it for camping trips as well. I'm in the Atlanta area and the budget for this hypothetical purchase would be $6,000.

Mid Week Match-Up: A Ramp Truck For SlowBoy

Today's Mid Week Match-Up request comes from SlowBoy who writes: I need a ramp truck. Road kill bought a sweet one for $3500. Classic Motorsports evidently got one, a nice 73 Ford for $2500. I really want one that isn't a rust bucket. I'm ok with topping their budgets, but I don't want to get red flakes in my eyes when I slide underneath to replace the fuel pumps.

10k: Cheap Hauler: 1969 Peterbilt Semi Truck with 1958 Two Car Stacking Trailer

It is always fun to take your street car to a track event, but it generally isn't a good idea.  Racing accidents, tire wear and comfort/speed tradeoffs inevitably lead to the conclusion that you need a dedicated race car...but now you need a place to store it, a way to haul it to the track...etc.  Those costs can be significant, so why not save the money for racing parts by buying a cheap used hauler.  Find this 1969 Peterbilt Semi Truck with 1958 Two Car Stacker offered for $12,500 in Alameda, CA via craigslist.  Tip from Kaibeezy.
