The Fast And The Furious 15th Anniversary: What Would Paul Walker Drive?

Tomorrow (June 22nd, 2016) 1,500 theaters across the country are showing the original The Fast and The Furious.  What car would you drive to the showing? Keeping in mind DT's budget limit, scour your local craigslist for the perfect ride to granny-shift to and from the theater. Considerations: Wild paint and neon are great for attracting crowds of teenagers and police officers alike. Bonus points for cars featured in the 2001 film, whether or not they're modified (with two of the big bottles of NOS, of course) to be a 10-second car.

If you thought yesterday's Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift Mustang was the only Fast n Furious movie car lurking quietly on craigslist in Los Angeles, you've got another thing coming.  This next car was the star of the show, more of a silent uncredited walk-on part, but its asking price is about what you'd pay for the roll cage setup in the bed.  Find this 2004 Dodge Ram from 2 Fast 2 Furious, located in Los Angeles, CA via craigslist.

DTO: Fast and Furious Tokyo Drifter: 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback

Does anybody remember that ulta-realistic third installment of the Fast and Furious series where high school kids (poor Texans and Yakuza members alike) drive 500 horsepower drift machines with easily $100k in aftermarket parts?  Between the RX-7s, Evos, Zs, and Tourans you might have missed the star of the movie, an RB26DETT swapped 1967 Ford Mustang fastback, except that isn't this car.  The Japanese inline-6 powered fastback was used for some static shots, but the real star of the climatic drift scene was a 403 cubic inch V8 powered beast that was bashed up on screen -- that's what we've got here today.

Here at the Daily Turismo we enjoy finding Tinsel Towncars that are a fair match for an on-screen vehicle, but to find an actual used movie car for DT prices is a treat!  This 1998 BMW 540 disguised as an M5 was used for filming in Fast & Furious (aka FF4, 2009) and is for sale in Edmond, OK, currently bidding for $2,950 reserve-not-met or $13,990 buy-it-now.
