Cool To Be Square: 1987 Volvo 245 Wagon

It is quite possible that Piet Mondrian was pulling an Andy Kauffman on the art world when he released the box themed painting known as the Victory Boogie Woogie, but there is something to be said for the utility of the box shape.  Ask any UPS or FedEx driver if they would prefer a truck shaped as the Venus de Milo or a box for delivering Amazon boxes to your front door, and they'll certainly pick the box, so why shouldn't your car be square too?  Find this 1987 Volvo 245 Wagon offered for $5,000 near Seattle, WA. Fellow destroyer of centuries of western artistic progress artist Paul Cezanne is quoted as saying that Mondrian was "thinking with his eyes," when he painted some of the garbage his art, but Jan Wilsgaard was certainly thinking with his head when he penned the boxy shape of the Volvo 240.



Whenever I see a lowered 240, I channel my inner Brad Pitt and ask what's in the box?  In this one, it is a B230FT block with a 15g turbo and some silicone pipes -- expect power to be more than the stock 150 horsepower/181 ft-lbs of torque.  Handling has been sharpened by aftermarket shocks/springs and sway bars.

    Maybe he'll sweeten the deal and include the alternate transportation device currently in the way back of this project...

    This is neat-o,for sure. I wish there was a responsible way for a 42y/o dude to pull something like this off... My understanding is that LH isn't too bad to tweak, but that's the word of someone more skilled than me (dad). Oh, and these seem to never have A/C, either. Down here, cold A/C and the ability to move under its own power are 90% of the sale on most of CL's volume movers.
