Welcome to another edition of DT's coveted, despised, sporadic and
always gluten free Commenter of the Week (COW!) award. Recently, the comments have been so good that to pick a COW award would be to disparage the rest of the comments, but in the past week there has been one commenter who has knocked it out of the park...many times. You all know who we are talking about...and this week we are giving away an actual physical prize...but don't worry, it is total crap and for tax purposes you can declare zero dollars.

COW: 9000 Words On The Saab 9000
Welcome to a special weekend edition of DT's Commenter of the Week (COW!) award, back from hiatus and ready to rock like the Rolling Stones after bi-lateral hip surgery. This week's COW award goes to a commenter who left a doozy of a comment starting with the four simple words Ah, the Saab 9000. ![]() |

DT COW: Put A Little Kick In Your Life
Welcome to another edition of DT's Commenter of the Week (COW) award - where we celebrate commenting genius, snaz or snarkyness. This week's winner comes from a former Corolla liftback owner and Pinto purist, who writes:Props to the pinto... In a time when all the Cheap imports had barely 1.6 liters, my early gear head self, parked my corolla lift back and easily laid rubber in my buddies pinto 4 speed with 2.3 liters of high mileage, pimple face torque! Ah, the high school years and cheap used cars! Easily forgotten, but the chevette was still a RWD sub that survived at least until 85 or 86, right? Just in time for the Yugo-Serbian invasion!

Special Thanks To Our Readers/Tippers/Commenters
We won't do a COY award (Commenter of the Year) because it would be unfair to all of the commenters/tippers who submit fantastic tips and hilarious comments and didn't win, so this is a special post dedicated to thanking individual folks who have made a huge impact on this site. Our only request is to comment early and comment often...the more the better!
Editor-in-Chief, Vince B: I'd also like to personally thank everyone who has sent in a tip or simple words of encouragement, you'd be surprised at how often I'm in a rut and get a simple tip that includes the words "Love the site" or "Keep up the good work" or "Stop listing my cars or I will sue you somofabitches into the stone age" and I instantly feel refreshed and invigorated.

"OK, I love you guys at DT, but I really think you have "jumped the shark" with this one."which was enough to get strong consideration for DT COW, but sealed the victory with the statement:
"$15,995? Really? Granted, it appears to be an excellent example in mint condition. But, I wouldn't pay $15,995 unless it came with $15,000 in the glovebox."

DT COW: Commenter of the Week; TMBMWT - Heros In A Half Shell!
Sometimes a comment really gives us a good belly laugh and we want to tell our readers thanks! In the last few days we've featured a few BMWs - two in a row to be precise, and a DT regular commenter said:
"TMBMWT!!!!! (Too Many BMWs Today).....starting to look like BaT....BMW this...BMW that....yadda yadda. I guess tomorrow you will have three over priced Alpha Romeo rust buckets. Sorry...just did my taxes and I'm pissed."Click thru the jump to see the winner.

10k: 1972 Cow-rare-a; ?

If you happen to view the Daily Turismo regularly and own a dairy or ice cream vending service...boy are you in for a treat. What started out as a 1972 Ford Pickup has now been converted into a three passenger giant cow carrying cruiser...the Cow-rare-a, for sale in Ontario, Canada via ebay with a starting bid of $10,000 (Canadian or US..it doesn't really matter these days).

DT COW: Commenter of the Week: Yuppie Hate
Its Friday and the end of the world, or so we've heard. While we haven't seen any comets or asteroids yet, we have seen the process of human evolution slowly reversing itself...but that is a discussion for another time. First, we want to say that is is so easy to hate yuppies as a symbol of 90's extravagance, but we must not also hate the things that yuppies loved as guilt by association isn't a good thing. Clearly the E21/E30 BMW 3-Series was a symbol of the young urban professional and we want to applaud one commenter for his twice posted (twice posted!) comment about this week's clean E21: This in one of the few yuppymobiles that I do not hate.

DT COW: Commenter of the Week: Welfare Queens and Bottles Edition
The Fox body 5.0 Mustang is a sweet rear wheel drive V8 powered coupe that is well depreciated today, but also an icon for mullett sporting trailer denizens throughout the West Virginia hill country. We did a feature on a minty clean 5.0 and got hilarious comment from a reader, the last bit of it here:
I guarantee if I took this car back to my hometown the welfare queens with 6 kids and a love of Jeebus would be throwing themselves at me. If I drove the 2002 BMW just below this someone would throw a bottle at me and call me the British term for a cigarette.

DT COW: Commenter of the Week
This week's commenter of the week originally posted an anonymous comment about a month ago and one of our regulars (Larry) made the following comment: "If you're going to continue making
witty comments, you should start using another screen name. "The
commenter of the week is anonymous" will sound a little strange." Mr Anonymous subsequently put a name on his comments and won our commenter of the week prize this week with the following comment about the el-cheapo Lancer Shelby Shelby Lancer: "Shelby, Smelby. A K-car by any other name is still Krap." Click thru the jump to see the winner.

COW: DT Commenter Of the Week
It's hard to believe that its Friday again - someone must have pressed the fast forward button (as in Adam Sandler movie Click). Anyway, it is time to present our weekly feature on the 'Commenter of the Week' or as we like to call it: COW. This week's COW came after we featured a mid '70s car with what we consider ugly bumpers and the commenter chimed in with the following comment about the 1-owner Jensen-Healey:
Seriously, did a bumper eat your mother? I understand that you don't like big bumpers, but the constant harping on the bumpers is starting to get a bit weird...

DT COW: Commenter of the Week
Another week gone down the drain- the staff at DT spent our time surfing the web for old cars, learning new swear words on urbandictionary, and causing mayhem in electric karts around the track at K1-speed (electric karts remove the inequalities associated with speed governors & clutch setup on arrive-and-drive gas karts and replace those with equally frustrating battery charge and depletion issues...but at least it doesn't stink so much). Anyway - it is time to pick the Commenter of the Week (COW!)!!
This commenter won our hearts with the following comment: "I was told once "never buy an X1/9 with rust in the windshield surround." Don't remember why exactly, but I've heeded the advice so far."

DT COW: Commenter of the Week
Another long week of scouring the Al Jazeera news comments looking for Sheikh owned long wheelbase Mercedes-Benzes for sale, and it is time to nominate our Commenter of the Week (COW) (the T in the is silent). This week's winner has been with us for a long time, always has some insightful comments and recently cinched the nomination by the following quote: "I really can't stand white cars. They just bother me." We agree 100% - see the winner after the jump...
