Unicorn Hunters: Find A Front Drive European Car For Less Than $10k

Sometimes, as authors, internet pundits, talking heads, and drunken bloggers, we at DT get a bit carried away with making fun of certain makes for being unreliable pieces of junk.  A few of our regular commenters pointed this out and in fairness to all, we felt the need to clear the air a bit about the issue.  First and foremost, if a car appears on this website, it is because it is interesting, fun, and potentially something the writers at DT would want to drive.  We get scores of tips and constantly find cars each day and would love to feature each one, but end up writing about the ones that make us want to stop writing and call the seller.  So, to make amends for the comments regarding French cars and leprosy, it is time to ask our readers to help us find the best front-drive European cars for less than $10k.  Simple.  Right?

10k: Unicorn Hunter: Find The Best $8-12k Four-Door Daily Driver

Last week we asked you to find us the best $2k-4k car for your sweetie for Valentine's day and the response was well...excellent...which is what we have come to expect from the talented craigslist junkies who frequent this website.  A particular favorite was the '74 Ford 4X4 Hi-Boy F250 suggested by AbnMike for his Siberian lady friend.  The F250 is covered in nicely patina'd blue paint and looks totally at home covered in snow somewhere near Anaconda or Butte...which sounds like a Sir Mix-a-Lot song now that I think about it.  Anyway, we continue the tradition of asking our readers to find us the best cars, this time we are looking for the best $10k 4-door daily driver.  My money would be on this 1999 Jaguar XJ8 with fuel injected Chevy LS1 V8 swap for sale in Okaloosa, FL for $10,500 via craigslist.

Unicorn Hunters, Valentines Day Edition: Find $2k-$4k Car For Your Sweetie

Last week's Unicorn Hunters feature netted us a few dozen fantastic examples of great $10-15k classic drivers and a bevy of great comments from our readers.  Today, we continue the quest for great cars, but with a Valentine's Day twist.  Find us the best $2k-$4k car for your wife, girlfriend, internet mistress...etc.  I know, it is a bit much to spend on Valentine's day compared to a dozen overpriced roses, but hey, she is worth it and puts up with your crap the other 364 days out of the year.

Unicorn Hunters: Find Us A $10-15k Classic Driver

The last time we asked help finding cool cars we focused on the cheaper $6-9k daily driver market segment and it was a great discussion with lots of good reader input.  Now imagine you've canceled getting braces for your kid(s) because eating corn on the cob through a chain link fence might come in handy someday.  You've got some extra cash to spend on that Daily Turismo weekend driver and the budget is $10-15k USD.  What do you get?

Unicorn Hunt: Find The Best $6-9k Daily Driver

There are plenty of other sites on the interwebs that spout senseless drivel about automobiles, but the best thing about the Daily Turismo is the capability of the regular commenters/tippers.  When an Anonymous Maserati owner (Ed: For crimes against DT's Commenting Commandment II, this commenter will henceforth be known as Persephone) accuses us of just repeating the same old internet chatter about 80s turbo Italian cars being unreliable...well...that's just...err..true?  But -- the point is, DT isn't just about spreading malicious misinformation, it is about helping people; as such we are asking our commenters and readers to help Persephone get out of her daily driver Maserati BiTurbo and into something...better.

Unicorn hUnters: Find It! Feed The Impulsive Side With A Good Piazza

A chill fills the air and all in the room are silent as the magic 8-ball has spoken.  For the premier installment of Unicorn hUnters: Ask,Find,Post the target vehicular unicorn is....the Giugiaro designed Isuzu Impulse, known by its worldwide name as the Piazza, (as requested by DT regular Andrew Liss.)  The specific request is for a 1991 Impulse RS Turbo AWD, but feel free to post in comments or email us any good examples you find, especially the earlier (1980-1990) rear-wheel-drive versions with suspension tuned by Lotus (1987+).  Now, go to your local craigslist, flea-market or kijijijiji and find us a good Impulse. Please!
