The Toyota Grand Prix in Long Beach was an annual Pro/Celebrity race in Toyota street cars that was first run in 1977 and finished when Toyota pulled their HQ out of SoCal in 2018. The race has always had lots of carnage and is typically more fun to watch than the Indy/IRL/ChampCar parade of high-powered wing-equipped spec-chassis 'race-cars' held later in the day.  Not sure how the cars were sold/auctioned after the events, but every once in a while one of the cars from that race will show up on ebay for a reasonable price, and I sorta want one. The sixth generation Toyota Celica was produced from 1993 through 1999 and offered a reliable, compact, and sporty driving experience for the common man.  It wasn't expensive like the Supra, but it offered a reasonable amount of power mated to a manual gearbox for a decent price.  Not much has changed, except today's feature handles better than when it left the factory.  Find this 1994 Toyota Celica GT racecar offered here on eBay for $4,700 buy-it-now located in Costa Mesa, CA.

The Volvo C202 Laplander we posted earlier this week generated some enthusiasm from our readers because of its clean condition and sweet trailer.  One commenter did point out that a similar car was also featured on the popular vintage car website 'Bring a Trailer" on the same day: "BaT is listing a Volvo C202 for under 4k, and DT is listing a Volvo C202 for 10.5k in nicer condition...What's going on here, my world is turned upside down!"
