Grand National Turbo V6 Powered: 1981 Chevrolet Malibu

This next car comes as a tip from Jeff G who writes: I know the price is a bit high for DT, but this one is interesting. An early 80's Malibu aint the first platform that comes to mind when thinking about what should be deserving of Grand National awesomeness, BUT he did do a pretty sweet job with the look & feel of the car + the Yenko thing was a nice touch. Like it or not, it's unique and the likelihood of seeing anything like this pull up next to you on the road is about as likely as any of the DT regulars getting their ride hand waxed by a nekkid Adriana Lima. Find this 1981 Chevrolet Malibu offered for $24,000 in Jacksonville, FL via craigslist.

Turbo V6: 1985 Buick Grand National

This car comes as a tip from Jon who writes: Here is a 1985 Buick Grand National that looks reasonably we preserved for its 30+ years for not-stupid-money. When new, they gave the Corvette a run for it's money, and briefly, were the quickest US car made, turbo V6 and all.  Find this 1985 Buick Grand National offered for $10,900 in Sherman, TX via craigslist.

15k: Vader's Coupe: 1986 Buick Regal Grand National

The Buick Regal  was a G-body coupe from General Motors that introduced the US to turbocharged performance and in 1978 was one of three cars available with a factory turbo; the others were the SAAB 99 and Porsche 911 Turbo.  While the 99 and 911 were available with manual transmissions beset with turbo lag, the Regal Grand National was an automatic transmission equipped cruiser that used a low pressure turbo and big displacement to create virtually instant boost response.  Find this 1986 Buick Regal Grand National for sale in Largo, FL currently bidding for $13,788 reserve-not-met with 4 days to go.

15k: Vader's Buick: 1987 Buick Regal Grand National

The 2nd generation Buick Grand National was the last vehicle from Buick to not be a total snooze fest.  It was rear wheel drive, available with turbocharged V6 engines and styled aggressively.  We normally don't promote show cars on DT, but this time we will make an exception because it looks mean.  Find this 1987 Buick Grand National modified custom currently bidding on ebay for $16,302 with 1 day to go in Los Angeles, CA.
