This week, we've got an extra special What Am I? feature. The photo below comes from DT's friend Pierce who sent this picture. Not only do you get to guess the make/model of the ghost car, but you also need tell us what the photographer is riding in.What Am I? Comments below.
VW Quantum?
ReplyDeleteMissed the part about the shooter's car. Wrangler?
DeleteSome old Subaru GL or Leone, etc... and the picture guy's car is probably a Chrysler product, maybe a jeep Cherokee, grand Cherokee, or patriot.
ReplyDeleteSentra wagon?
ReplyDeleteIf it's not a Subaru I'll go for VW Passat/Audi Fox/VW Fox wagon. Photo car? Jeep, or one of those square Kia things?
ReplyDelete2 door VW fox wagon? i think they only made it 1 year, so will say 1990 VW Fox.
ReplyDeletethe door handle does have an older jeep vibe to it.
Pinto wagon and Jeep Rubicon?
ReplyDeleteI agree with Walter...it looks very Quantum-ish. I also agree the photographer is in a Jeep, but I think it's a Patriot.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to say that the wagon is a Renault of some kind, though VW Fox is my second guess.
ReplyDeletePhoto car definitely a Jeep Wrangler, 4-door.
John M hit the photo car correctly, it is a 4-door Wrangler. However, the guesses on the ghost car are close...REALLY close, but no one has called out the name on the back. .
ReplyDeleteSince we're going for close but not quite - VW Quantum Syncro?

ReplyDeleteVW Dasher?
ReplyDeleteShould have known that, had a four-door at one point.
Paid $400 for that Dasher, had what sane people would have regarded as a terminal case of K-Jet rot. But, damn, it was an interesting bit of on-the-job training on a fairly simple K-Jet version that prepared me well for Saab ownership.
DeleteBack then you could actually find K-Jet parts in the junkyards, which mattered because fixing that thing with new parts would have cost 3x what it was worth. And once it was running it was nearly indestructable.
Yup -- the Dasher.

Life lesson: when buying a non-running car from a cute coworker when, okay, you can use the car but an almost equal goal is to get her pants off, do you willingly overpay a bit or do you negotiate to show you're not a pushover? Or does the fact that you're buying a non-running $400 car in the first place demonstrate that you're not exactly an optimal mate?
DeleteLife advice: Pretty sure you are married and aren't getting anywhere with cute coworker in this life. Save your cash. Offer her $50. Get your wife roses. Profit.

DeleteThe situation presented above was several years before I was married, I was acquainted with the woman I ended up marrying but she was with someone else and I was in between various others.
DeleteI ended up with the car but not the coworker. Probably for the best.
VW 411?
ReplyDeleteOh, or maybe an Audi Fox wagon?
DeleteProfile and rear window angle wrong for a 411/412. I'd already said Audi Fox earlier. But I said 'Passat', when the VW version at the time was the 'Dasher'.
DeleteLet's see what the guy with the gong says.
Ah, scanned through the /'s too fast!
DeleteMercury Bobcat wagon?
ReplyDeletecorvette?
ReplyDeleteWhere is Prancer and Rudolph.....?
ReplyDeletePrancer is mayor of Chicago, and I think Rudolph died in Spandau.
DeleteOh, wait, you're talking about cars...
