Very nice example of an absolute Space Ship of a car. But a diesel... I just don't think I could. "Fastest Diesel Car in the world" when it was built, however.

DeleteSurprisingly the hydropneumatic system is not a bottomless pit for money, as long as you keep rust at bay. Once you understand them, anyone with moderate mechanical skills can do most of the work, and there are good specialists for things like rebuilding the spheres. Every car enthusiast owes it to themselves to ride in or drive a hydropneumatic Citroen at least once in their lives. They blow your mind about what is possible.
DeleteIs there a reason why luxury car brands don't use hydro-pneumatic systems? If the reliability isn't terrible I don't see any reason not to use them. Unless airbags are better...
