Wherever You Go, There You Are: 1986 Yugo GV

A few years after Malcolm Bricklin made a decent amount of money importing small Subaru cars in the USA, he launched his own auto company, which made the DeLoreanesque SV-1.  The SV-1 was a cool car, but was arguably a financial failure, so Mr Bricklin went back to doing what he did best: importing cheap cars for the US economy car market.  Except for the next project he didn't find a reliable Japanese partner and instead partnered with the Serbian based Zastava Automobiles....and the rest is a punchline to every other joke.  Find this 1986 Yugo GV here on eBay bidding for $3000 with 1 day to go, located in Minnesota City, MN.

Crybaby: 1955 Tatra 805

The Tatra 805 is an oddball Soviet Bloc off-road military hauler built from 1952 through 1962 somewhere behind the iron curtain. According to various online sources, the 805 was called "crybaby" because of the peculiar engine note from the aircooled V8.  Find this 1955 Tatra 805 offered for $16,000 CAD ($12,115 USD at time of printing) located in Mississauga Ontario, Canada via Kijiji.ca. Only One Around: 1954 Moskvitch 400

What happens when you take the design of the pre-war German built Opel Kadett and combine it with the capabilities of the Moscovskiy Zavod Malolitrazhnyh Avtomobiley (Moscow Factory for Making Small Cars) and the direction from Joseph Stalin himself...?  It isn't entirely clear to me, but I'm sure it involved many knocks on doors in the middle of the night before the Moskvitch 400 got to 50 mph.  Find this 1954 Moskvitch 400 offered for $3,950 in Hunlock Creek, PA via craigslist. KGB Black: 1979 Lada 2101 Zhiguli

The Lada/VAZ 2101 was compact sedan built by AvtoVAZ starting in 1970 for Eastern Bloc needs.  It doesn't have the reliability of a classic German car, the handling of a British classic, or the speed of something domestic, but it has the undeniable cool factor of a Soviet sedan.  Find this 1979 Lada 2101 Zhiguli offered for $10,500 in Marco Island, FL via craigslist.  Tip from Dascpcu.
