Get A Bucket: One Owner 1979 Mazda 626 Vintage Racer
This 1979 Mazda 626 racer is wearing our favorite vintage Skull & AARP livery. It is said to be an original one owner car-- as in it originally had one owner, and then some other people, racing teams, firms, salvage yards...but rest assured it has had at least one owner. Find it here on craigslist for $650 near Spokane, WA. Thanks to submission from GaB tipper Oldsmobuick.
Get A Bucket: 1990 Volvo 740
This 1990 Volvo 740 GLE Wagon is said to have the rear jump seats and appears to seat seven passengers. It is said to have recently had some maintenance, but might need a new timing belt or excorsism...who knows, it is very reliable, until it stops working. Great car. Lots of patina. Find it here on craigslist for $700 in Richmond, CA.
Get A Bucket: 1977 Triumph Spitfire
This Triumph Spitfire is covered in our preferred shade of black paint and the current seller has done a cosmetic bumper delete. It is said to be a restorable vehicle with a clean title. Something, something, patina...potential for inline six swap, we'd change the wheels. Find it here on craigslist for $900 in Chatsworth, CA.
Get A Bucket: 1931 Ford Model A
This Ford Model A is said to be a good original condition chassis that just needs a few parts to complete. We really like the fact that this could be either a 1930 or 1931 chassis and it appears to be well preserved for sitting outside in a field for the past 80 years. If it were ours, we'd restore it to stock or put a 21 Window VW bus chassis powered by a Porsche 912 on it; either way it is a win-win situation for everyone involved. Find it here on craigslist for $1000 in Northridge, CA.
Get A Bucket: 1965 Chevrolet Corvair
This 1965 Corvair is one of the more desirable second generation Corvairs with the safer independent rear suspension that we prefer instead of the swing axle. Covered in a protective patina of rust, it appears to be in good shape aside from missing most major trim and glass pieces, and not running. Find it here on craigslist for $800 located in East Mesa, AZ. Special thanks to GaB reader Ralph N for his submission.
Get A Bucket: 1983 Honda Civic
This 1983 Honda Civic 5-door wagon is said to have had its head rebuilt at a machine shop in Santa Fe Springs, it is said to have new spark plugs and is said to not run. It does seem to need a tow truck to be taken home. We would get it running and apply some period-correct cocaine residue to any flat horizontal areas on the dashboard. Find it here on craigslist for $1000 in El Monte, CA.
Daily Turismo: Get A Bucket
Mahatma Gandhi may have said "You must be the change you wish to see in the world," but my neighbor Ted said "You must be f*#king kidding me, this vending machine took my change." Anyway, my name is Bob and I'm replacing the old Editor-in-Chief (and rack-n-pinion enthusiast) Vince since he made enough money on the Daily Turismo Private Reserve 190SL to retire to the Seychelles...or Paxton, Nebraska...I'm not sure, but am contractually obliged to speak in the third person from now on. The plan for the future of DT is to stop hunting Moby Dick and start canning sardines...which in this case is anything we can find for less than $1000.
