Underappreciated Classic: 1981 BMW 633CSi

When will the E24 generation BMW 6-series get the market attention and love it deserves?  Oh...I'm not supposed to say that?  I'm just supposed to keep my mouth shut and let all the sheeple go and spend their money on Porsche 911s and over restored Camaros?  Okay.  Right.  Nothing to see here. Not a fantastic piece of machinery with a manual gearbox that desparately needs some Singer style restorations for the wealthy buyer to scoop up like popcorn.  Find this 1981 BMW 633CSi here on eBay offered for $8,100 buy-it-now or make offer located in Sugar Land, TX with 3 days to go.

10k: Shark Bait: 1984 BMW 633CSi E24 5 Speed

The E24 generation BMW 6-series was the successor to the classic BMW CS and CSL.  While the E9 (CS and CSL) are extremely expensive in any condition (even a rustbucket) the E24 6 Series are very reasonable.  It is a pretty car and Paul Bracq's design set the style of BMWs for years to come; don't expect these things to stay cheap for much longer.  Find this 1984 BMW 633CSi E24 5 Speed offered for $9995 in Mercer Island, WA via craigslist.  Tip from Gianni.

5k: A Better Bond: 1983 BMW 633CSi E24 5-spd

In 1976 the original BMW 6-series introduced to a gas crisis panicked world a new paradigm in Grand Touring (GT) luxury automobiles.  GT cars have always been about style, speed, comfort and usability - roughly in that order - but the E24 6-series didn't need to impress the world with decadent curves like an Aston Martin DB5 or a brutish V8 like a Mach 1 Mustang.  Quite in line with BMW's 60s/70s/80s philosophy, the car was built with the right amount of power from a smooth inline-6, rock solid build quality, autobahn tight handling and understated styling that looks good from all angles, but can blend into the crowd if needed.  It is quite frankly a better spy car than anything 007 ever drove on screen.  Find this 1983 BMW 633CSi for sale in Portland, OR for $5,099 via craiglist.  Tip from Frederic D.
