Tipper Craig F asks: "What if the Batmobile was built by an Arkham Asylum mechanic?" Arkham Asylum is the mental institution in the fictitious DC Comics city of Gotham, noted for regular escapes by the Joker, Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy and any number of other nuts. This car shares the classic split cockpit and general flat-black attitude of any number of Batmobiles, but it really outshines in a few key aspects.
Aspect #1: Engine Location: This is a new spin on 'mid-engine' since the engine is placed between the driver and passenger. Forget having a conversation with Robin about the latest Batarang or how to keep your tights from riding up your ass, because the 377 cubic inch Chevy V8 is inches from your bat-ears.
Aspect #2: Weight loss plan: The narrow passenger compartment in this Batmobile will only allow Christopher Walken emaciated Batmen and will certainly be too narrow for fat Val Kilmer superheros.
Aspect #3: Hitchiker and luggage storage: What in the bright blue batcave is the expanded metal framed 'luggage rack' on the back used for? Are those bungie cords on the bottom? Is that a trailer hitch ball mounted in the middle? So much confusion...but at least the price is right...

ReplyDeleteSome people should NEVER be allowed near a drafting table. That said, this is actually a pretty interesting rig. I'd like to check it out and see what the guy's fab skills really are.
ReplyDeleteIf the motor mounted right next to your head wasn't enough, there are sharp cornered speakers just inches from your noggin for added audio output.
