Sunday Drive-In: Carroll Shelby, In His Own Words

After spending most of the day at the 2016 Carroll Shelby Tribute car show (pics and video in the works!) it seemed only appropriate to feature a video of the Texas Chicken Rancher himself for today's  Sunday Drive-In.

Sunday Drive-In: Rally Corner

Welcome to Sunday Drive-In, a weekly celebration of stuff on the internet worth watching. Have you ever noticed that the more exciting the motorsport is for the driver, the less fun is for spectators?  Look at circle track racing -- it is miserably boring to just turn left all day, but the fans great a great view of all racing action.  A road course is next best, with views of multiple corners for fans, and much more excitement for the drivers.  Street courses are next, the implications of crashes much higher, but views for spectators are compromised by buildings and other things.  And finally we get to rally racing.  In rally, the driver is expect to respond to weather, road conditions, and hazards based on a few limited dry-runs of the course, but fans are given a 2 second drive-by of some fantastic piece of machine.  Wait another 5 minutes and you'll see something else.  Not that there is anything wrong with standing in the woods all day to watch the world's best blast through corners fishtailing expensive machinery at triple digit speeds. Take a look at this next video for a preview of being a rally fan for a day.

Sunday Drive-In: Little Big Mans

Welcome to Sunday Drive-In, a weekly celebration of stuff on the internet worth watching.  In honor of Mother's Day we are going to highlight little feature about the kids.  Little Big Mans is an event that takes place during the LeMans Classic race weekend, and little 6-10 year old kids get a chance to drive fun sized vintage racer replicas around the Circuit de la Sarthe.

Sunday Drive-In: Tanner Foust in San Diego With A SlingshotX

Welcome to Sunday Drive-In, a weekly celebration of stuff on the internet worth watching.  Most people with a high speed internet connection and gasoline running through their veins have seen Ken Block's fabulous Gymkhana series and the Ken Box Crazy Cart parody.  However, recently a dude named Tanner Foust teamed up with the guys behind the 3-wheeled Slingshot to produce a video of a three wheeler drifting through the streets of San Diego.

Sunday Drive-In: A Saab Story

Welcome to Sunday Drive-In, a weekly celebration of the good stuff on the internet worth watching.  This week's feature was inspired by the recent discussion about that 2-stroke Saab that sounds like well oiled chainsaw.  Enjoy an episode of AFTER/DRIVE -- Yes, You Can Build a Sick Vintage Rally Car on youtube.

Sunday Drive-In: Real American Hero -- The Pintobishi

Most of the stuff that you'll find on youtube is either professional produced stuff with a gazillionty views or one of the 80 million unwatchable piles of junk that languishes with 17 views .  However, for today's Sunday Drive-In, I want to highlight an unusually interesting series of videos that only has a handful of views, but is completely awesome.  It is the Pintobishi.

Sunday Drive-In: Fear is the Key

Welcome to Sunday Drive-In, a weekly celebration of stuff on the internet worth watching. This car chase is from the 1973 movie Fear is the Key, which is unfortunately out of print (probably because it is basically unwatchable), but you get to see a few minutes of Barry Newman (famous for driving the white Challenger in Vanishing Point while goosed out of his mind on Benzedrine) driving a 1972 Ford Torino like a madman.

Sunday Drive-In: Nine Days in Summer

Welcome to another edition of Sunday Drive-in, where we celebrate cool videos around the inter-webs.  Today we are going to return to a time when the drivers were fat and the tires were skinny.

Sunday Drive-In: Seinfeld and Steve Martin

Welcome to Sunday Drive-In, a weekly celebration of stuff on the internet worth watching.  If you don't already regularly tune in for Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, you are seriously missing out -- it is arguably one of the best automotive themed shows on the web.

Sunday Drive-In: Saab 9000 V8

Welcome to Sunday Drive-In, a new feature on Daily Turismo, where we highlight sweet (and odd) videos found around the web, and we are going to kick this off with a bang.  A bangin' Saab 9000 with a V8 engine.  Oh ya...the entire video is in Finnish.
