From the DT Fleet: Duckling, the 1966 Volvo 1800S

From April 19, 2014: Believe it or not, there is a downside to moonlighting as an editor for Daily Turismo and having a stable of esoteric, affordable, and interesting older cars to tinker with and write about. That downside is that sometimes you have to part with one of your own. A few months back I (CFlo) offered my '66 VW Beetle for sale, and ultimately after a series of frustrating experiences I decided to keep the car. I'm happy I did, but now I have to bid adieu to another '66 - this Volvo 1800S coupe. For now, this is a pure DT listing - no craigslist flakes or ebay fees desired. And I suppose it's a seller submission since my wife is technically the owner. It's a runner and a driver, has some needs, but is a cheap classic in the finest DT tradition. Best of 2013: Top Viewed DT Stories In 2013

It has been another great year of cars, nuts and bolts at the Daily Turismo and it seems like a good-a-time as any to start some lists.  This internet thing is a complex beast, but one of the easier statistics to wrap your head around is pageviews...not because it gives a decent idea of how popular a particular post is, but how often spam/scam bots find your pages.  Gotta mean something if your page is constantly probed by viruses and hackers...right?

It is mid January and we continue to write 2012 on all of our checks, but we wanted to take the time and recognize the most popular posts of 2012 based on views.  We all had our favorites and were hoping for a better showing from the AMC based BatMobile, but the data doesn't lie.  Without further ado, we would like to present the top 5 posts from 2012 starting with number 5.

We had promised a few T-shirts to commenters, first for winning the Horrorod entry contest for Daily Turismoween and second for guessing the make and model of our Volvo DT Project car.  Today, we have the winners.

DT Joins 'the Twitter'.

      The Daily Turismo joined the party (about 6 years late) and we've signed up on this 'Twitter' thing that quite frankly confuses our old and feeble minds.  Anyway - our posts should now be sent around the twitter verse at lightspeed whenever feedburner decides to send an update.  The word twitter is roughly defined as "'a short burst of inconsequential information" and we think this applies perfectly to just about everything we write.
