The Duramax V8 turbo diesel engine was built from a joint venture between General Motors on Isuzu starting in 2001. The DMax is a heavy duty engine and was only available in the H1 Hummer, GMC Sierra/Savanna/Topkick or Chevy Silverado/Kodiak/Express.
