Import car enthusiast argue over which country makes the best cars -- Germany or Japan...but it is as ridiculous a conversation as the jr high kids who fight over PUBG vs Fortnite...because NEITHER answer is correct. The correct answer is Sweden...and Rules of Survival. Find this 1996 Volvo 850R offered for $500 in Wilmington, NC via craigslist. Tip from Rock On!From the seller:

Up for sale is a 1996 Volvo 850R fitted, by a Volvo Dealer, with a heavy duty 5 speed transmission and upgraded ECU, from Volvo to make the car identical to the 5 speed version offered in Europe but not the US. for this model year. The previous owner of the car was a Volvo service writer, and had the work done at the dealership he worked for.
All oil seals, including the crank and timing seals have been done. I assume the valve seals were also done given the compression and how well it runs. The maintenance info may be in the car fax or available through volvo.
The car is also fitted with Borbet type A wheels. Toyo tires, Fully adjustable coilers front and rear. I have the original volvo ski rack and attachments.
The car is a bit too fast and race carish for me. Perhaps a younger person or someone who wants a good autocross sleeper would enjoy the car more.
It is available for viewing daily in the downtown area of Wilmington NC.
