DT faithful, here is the name of the game: Simply find cars that have asymmetrical (off-center) bulges or ducts on them. These are generally for cooling, air intake or clearance, but they could be ornamental. No after-market parts, please. Provide the make & model and post a sample pic in the comments. Below is an example of each:Studebaker Avanti with an off-center hood bulge
Ford Mustang SVO with an off-center intercooler duct

It would be rude not to mention the fist-gen DSM and its 4G63 clearance hump. Rather than choose the more obvious Mitsubishi Eclipse or Eagle Talon versions, I'll go with the oddball Plymouth Laser RS Turbo.

I suppose the Isetta's door qualifies:

At some point we're all going to start posting pics of left side and right side gas fillers...
DeleteBut I think the engine cooling duct on the right side DEFINITELY qualifies.

Oh gawd Adam, you just caused a flashback for me. One of these used to be my vacation ride, when I would visit my in-laws in France. What a truly dismal excuse for an automobile (except for the unburstable engine, maybe). Asymmetry was the least of its sins.
DeleteThe 4WD Pandas are apparently pretty highly sought after.
DeleteWheeler Dealers did one up recently - not my favorite one I'm afraid - Edd painted it olive green, textured with rubbery bits like a non-slip stair tread, using a *roller*! - ugh
DeleteI can't figure out your image link,, but your list needs to include the Turbo Trans Am.

ReplyDeleteChevy Nova. Not actually asymmetric, it's just that body by Fisher meant it was bolted to the frame crooked.
