5k: Honest Hauler: 1969 Chevy C10 Stakeside Pickup

Occasionally, you might need a vehicle to help you do some hedge clipping instead of apex clipping. That being said, there is simply no reason to spend a lot of money on a newer pickup.  First, the value of pickups drops drastically and second, the modern pickups offer nothing new in hauling capabilities compared to an old pickup. So why not get an occasional work truck that you could take to a car show and not hide in the corner?  Find this 1969 Chevy C10 Stakeside Pickup for sale in Chula Vista, CA for $3550 via craigslist.


This won't be a good truck to try and put 50k miles per year of actual work commuting because the fuel consumption will kill you (better to pick up an old Hino light duty diesel truck for that), but for an occasional trip to the dump or home despot it will be fine. Honestly, anything you buy at the local mega depot is designed for the dump in 2 years anyway, so why not save the trouble and just do both in the same trip?  This C10 is powered by a Chevy 350 with a Turbo Hydramatic 350 trans and all the gauges and lights work...and it has an oak sided stake bed. 


In truth there are probably a thousand similar pickups all over craigslists in the USA, kijiji in Canada, and local lists in Europe that fit the same category and asking price.  It will probably never be "collectible" but that's okay, just add gas and drive.  See a better work truck? email us here: tips@dailyturismo.com

    Well.....I own a six cylinder "stripper" long bed '72 C-10. Original color was three on the trrr and some mechanic dropped a 3 speed into the floor.. Have to say theres nothing better for the backside of a man than to have it riding an older pickuo.

    Every time I see one of those heated seats modern pickups I laugh...what a waste of money! But this and be the swingingest richard in the neighborhood. Make the suburbanite housewives faint!
