Fond Memories: 1984 Datsun Stanza

The year was 2001. The place; a bit outside of Raleigh, North Carolina. My buddy Steve and I pulled a free 1983 Stanza from some guy's wood pile and got stung by yellow jackets trying to get it out. We got it running on a Carter YF carburetor from my AMC Javelin using a manifold adapter made from a 2x4 block and nails. As you may guess, we started a large field on fire during a drought and hydro-locked the CA18 motor on Mountain Dew trying to extinguish the flames which were dripping from the manifold. Then we rolled it. Find this piece of my adolescence, a 1984 Datsun Stanza, for sale in Seattle, WA for $1,590 via craigslist.

Minivan or Wagon? 1986 Nissan Stanza

By Al -- When Chrysler dropped the Minivan bomb on the American car buying public , other car makers were caught with their pants down. Other car makers had to resort to all sorts of stop gap, not ready for prime time vehicles to fill the void in their lineup. Some of the more interesting entries were from the Japanese car makers that hastily adapted their Japanese market cars for the USA. A perfect example  is this 1986 Nissan Stanza Wagon 5 speed available for $2,800 in Oceanside, CA.

1k: Prairie Dog: 1987 Nissan Stanza Wagon

If you are looking for a dirt cheap 7 passenger vehicle, the market seems to consist primarily of 60/70s American plus sized wagons or late model minivans with 300k miles on the odometer.  Neither of those vehicles provide particularly good fuel economy so you are obliged to wait until Tesla P85 with rear jump seats has depreciated...or are you?  What if you could get a small 7-passenger car with great fuel economy and eat your funnel cake too?  Mmmm, I love funnel cake. Find this 1987 Nissan Stanza Wagon offered for $1,500 in Boise, ID via craigslist.  Tip from FuelTruck.
