Production of the Mercedes-Benz Unimog ("UNIversal-MOtor-Gerät" (Gerät meaning machine in German)) started in post WWII as agricultural equipment, specifically because Germany was forbidden from building anything with pointy edges after their second failed attempt at world domination.  However, the farm tractor was just a few minor modifications away from being turned into a troop carrier for rolling through the streets of Paris, or (as is the case today) turned into a fun offroader for rolling through Perris.  Find this 1970 Mercedes-Benz Unimog 404 for $6,500 in Bako, CA via craigslist.

 The Peugeot 404 was available as a convertible with a Pininfarina designed (and coachbuilt) body starting in 1963.  When new, it cost as much as a Jaguar E-Type, but offered neither performance or stunning good looks of the now legendary big cat.  Almost 50 years later, the 404 Convertible offers an elegant, but reserved, driving experience for the Francophile at a fraction of the cost of an E-type.  Find this 1967 Peugeot 404 Convertible here on eBay currently bidding for $4,550 reserve-not-met with 2 days to go, located in Sarasota, FL.

The Unimog is an multi-purpose medium duty truck that was the brain child of Dr Ferdinand Unimog...no it wasn't.  It is short for "UNIversal-MOtor-Gerät" (Gerät meaning machine in German) and was originally built in post war Germany for "agricultural" purposes due to the post war anti-military production sanctions on the country that had twice tried to take over the world in the span of 25 years. Anyone with half a brain would have instantly realized that this "tractor" was really a troop carrier and would have sent tanks into Berlin, but there was this wall in the way and frankly people around the world were just starting to discover the joys of sitting down after dinner to watch television.  History will show you that war was not going to happen before the advent of the VCR (and later TiVo) because you'd miss all your shows..but I digress. The Importance of Being Earnest About An Unused Peugeot

Oscar Wilde once famously wrote: "What is a cynic? A man who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing." We at DT don't claim to know the price of everything, but we do understand the value in nothing...more specifically information missing from a car listing.
